Level 6 - 2 - Dungeon of the Mad Mage (All Tiers)

Shut down all the garbage mashers on the [temple maintenance] level!

This post finishes off the Lost Level...and continues our Arch Gate extravaganza.

Map Notes. As per the usual for DOTMM, this map is split into sections, with this post provided Maps C and D to finish off the level.  Again, here is the full layout for Level 6

Nothing particular to note for mapping.  This level seems to really be a lot of broken stone stuff - although I did appreciate the trash compactor in 36b.

Files. I have included both Background "_BG_" and Transparent "_TP_" versions of each of the maps listed above; background means it has a flat grey image behind the dungeon, transparent means there is nothing there. For the Roll20 versions, this means the background version is a jpg while the transparent version is a png (jpgs don't support transparency); Foundry are both dd2vtt files. IF you want to puzzle piece the sections together like above (NOT RECOMMENDED), you have the transparent versions available for that. However, if you set up each map to an individual scene, you could use either, but the _BG_ jpgs will meet the file size limits for Roll20 (TP pngs may not!).

The zip files below have the Level 6 Maps C and D, as well as a GM overlay for each map. Roll20Free is a .jpg < 5MB, Roll20Paid is a .jpg < 10MB, while Foundry formats are dd2vtt files. Roll20 maps are at 70 and 140 px per grid cell respectively and the Foundry files are 100px (this also holds true for the transparent images).

My part is full of murder hobos, and they fly through most levels. However, keep in mind, Level 3 is HUGE. If you include Skullport/Skull Island in that, it goes up to GARGANTUAN. We plan about once a week (with the off week here and there), and we still aren't done with level 3 yet (We started DotMM in March). If you aren't already, I'd recommend the companion - it really fleshes out the base adventure from WOTC.

We play once a week, they unfortunately flew through the first level without exploring everything. I'm going to try and keep them in Skullport for a while once they get there!

hopefully I can stay ahead of you for a while yet! how often are you playing or progressing levels?

Ian

YES! Loving DotMM. My players are on Level 2 right now. I'm going to be so sad when they pass what you've gotten done so far. Keep up the great work!
