Street Chase. Down the alley, they dart around the corner out of sight, the party gives chase, hot on their heels. Rounding the bend they emerge onto the main street, wagons going every which way as the fleeing escapee heads for the market...and on the chase goes. A classic movie chase scene ready for your D&D game.
Map Notes. The map is intended to play out left to right (but maybe it works the other way?) You can start players wherever you like but I'd suggest in the alley before having them break onto the main street either by using the alley (~120ft away) or by cutting across the warehouse yard (~60ft away) If using Willifort and the hire-coach, it matches the one from my previous map. An alternate path has them stay in the lower alley (perhaps if Willifort is on foot, through the barrel/crate maze) and then cut across the market busting through the stalls in classic chase scene style (I set the market to also work for cutting from street heading SE as well). Either way they end back in the street and can either stay straight on that or veer past the construction site (watch out for the crane load of bricks!) and around the movers loading furniture onto the carts. There are 3 different sewer grates you can use to end the summer encounter as per the source book.
Mapping wise I wanted to create a template that could use many of the chase complication table aspects within it - however I stuck to mostly physical objects and thought DMs could use tokens or other NPC assets to create the 'people related' complications. There are 4 versions for the map:
Before - the most assets, including embedded wagons, stalls, and complications (ie. the people carrying the sheet of glass)
After - a similar level of assets, but highlighting the 'after effects' of the chase (ie. the people staring at the broken sheet of glass on the street - this is mostly for showcase purposes and ONLY exists for Summer, other seasons do not include this variant)
Action Removed - all of the "2-phase" assets are removed but other assets remain (ie. the people with the glass are gone, but the carts and wagons are still in the street. Use the MapElements items to fill out the scene using this map.
Static only - is the most barren map of them all and removes anything that moves essentially (ie. the people with the glass and the carts are gone). Use the MapElements items with this map for most control of the scene.
Files. The zip files below are organized in 3 seasons and 3-4x folders per season (due to Patreon file size limits): Roll20Free for smaller 70px images; Roll20Paid for larger 140px images; FoundryVTT for 100px dd2vtt files compatible with multiple VTTs. There is an additional folder for the Printable maps which are 140px gridded images in color and black and white.
A final note: there is no autumn street chase variant as the encounter chain doesn't use the map (I was sad to not to get to build an asset with pumpkins rolling down the street).
