Gralhund Villa. An estate, bordered by 12-foot high stone walls in Waterdeep's North Ward. Home to the Gralhunds, who certainly are an eclectic bunch.
As I got further into mapping this, the more I realized that - a private lounge with a wrestling mat and nude statues, a marble ballroom with mirrors on the wall and an orgy mural on the ceiling. The source book was insanely detailed so there are a ton of custom assets in this one to match the source.
Map Notes. One change (that has zero effect on playability) is that when you are looking at Waterdeep overview map, the Villa and streets are actually rotated/skewed 45 deg clockwise from north - for mapping simplicity (to better align with grid), I've left it squared with north as straight up as shown in the detailed map of the villa.
I mapped the surrounding streets to allow your players to approach as they would like - there is a small alleyway to the east, off Lion Street, that winds through the rowhouses before dead-ending at the 12 foot stone wall of the Gralhund Villa that I see as a likely choice for players. Once inside, I added a barely worn footpath inside the perimeter wall that might indicate to attentive players that the yard is patrolled. Rocks/trees just inside the wall provide some cover options for players once they drop inside. A couple holes behind the rocks where the Mastiffs have dug some bones gives further indication that there may be some threats in the yard.
Doors throughout the villa remain unchanged, but there were zero windows shown on the map in the source - so I added some in to convey that the Gralhund's live in a posh villa, and don't live in a dungeon (although now that I've mapped all their weird stuff...maybe they preferred it that way - oh well, too late). Oh one final note: the Gralhund's don't poop - there is mention of one bathroom in the massive villa - yet the actual description of the room puts the tub where the privy would most likely go.
Files. The zip files below are organized in 4 seasons and 3x folders per season: Roll20Free for smaller 70px images; Roll20Paid for larger 140px images; FoundryVTT for 100px dd2vtt files compatible with multiple VTTs. There is an additional folder for the Printable maps which are 140px gridded images in color and black and white. There are also files included labelled NoBodies if you don't want the massacre that has occurred throughout the villa.
