The Yawning Portal. A renowned tavern, built around the remains of the mad wizards tower. For a small fee, Durnan is happy to lower adventurers down into the undermountain. A perfect start to Waterdeep Dragon Heist or Dungeon of the Mad Mage.
This map is my revised version for Dungeon of the Mad Mage. It is based on two more recent sources and looks a little different from older sources. The two sources I used as inspiration for this map were the cartoon version found in DnDBeyond's source book as well as the upcoming terrain release from WizKids.
I've included all 3 floors shown, with spiral staircases connecting the levels on both sides. I elected to keep it as shown in the sources and not add on any other rooms (despite this large inn missing lavatories...). I did try and solve the kitchen problem by devoting the top left side building to be a kitchen with warm light spilling from the kitchen inside, and a well warn path marked with spills as servers ferry dishes to and from it.
Files. The zip files below are organized in 4 folders: Roll20Free for smaller 70px images; Roll20Paid for larger 140px images; FoundryVTT for 100px dd2vtt files compatible with multiple VTTs; and Printable which are 140px gridded images in color and black and white.
