Caption formatting poll
Added 2024-08-08 15:00:11 +0000 UTCAs mentioned in today's caption post, take a look at all 3 versions and then let me know which formatting you prefer! We'll stick with that going forward, assuming there's a clear preference. You can also find the 3 versions attached to this post.
Personally I like V3. It's short, sweet, doesn't flood you with text, and is readable for computer and phone users. But you lose the story and buildup, which I guess matters a little.

2024-08-08 16:06:14 +0000 UTCTo be honest, i am quite happy to not see the picture while reading on my phone. I generally read the story not looping at the picture, keeping ot for the end. Also, i believe the best format depends on the story. Here, there isn't a lot of plot twists or developpment, and the Lady keeps the same mood through the story. so the V3 version sums it up quite well! But for some captions with a more intricate story (which i love), and characters changing their mood through the story, having the "wall of text" gives much needed context and progression that cannot be conveyed by an image alone. One of the reasons i like this kind of content is the progression and evolution, which i believe requires a bit of text/explanation.

I will say, V2 feels like it's squishing the picture, so if you want a nice full view of it for reference, you have to zoom in or out to read or view (if you're on mobile). V1 is classic, and lets you read the story and/or view the picture without losing too much. And V3 works well for multi-picture sequences. You COULD try a V3.5: Combine 1 and 3, with the short-and-sweet dialogie caption acting as an indicator as to where in the story we are. But that also seems like extra work. I voted for V3, if that makes a difference.
