Al's a deal maker, he gains power by offering services in exchange for something, up til now he's been helping Charlie to prove his value and make her see him as an ally so that when she's truly desperate she'll agree to almost anything he asks. My theory is that his favor will have to do with cutting him loose from whoever has him on a leash. Also I thought that it was pretty clear that Charlie and Vaggie were together, they've been closer to each other than any other character in the series; also they sleep in the same bed. Charlie is Bi, Vaggie is lesbian, Angel is gay, Sir Pentious is bi, Husk is pan, Alastor is aro/ace and Nifty is straight.
