Early Access Video: Is my shop still okay?

Friends:

I'm still a bit sick and was only able to work a few half-days this week. Apparently, some people are taking a month to recover fully.

Nevertheless, I did finally get into the shop again....after two full weeks of not setting foot in there. I admit, I was worried. Did the roof leak? Did anyone break in? Are my tools okay?

Seemed like the best thing to do was grab a camera and take you all with me as I walked in for the first time. What did I find? You'll have to watch.

Happy Saturday!

Early Access Video: Is my shop still okay?

Comments

A video on building these panels would be great. I'd like to put one or two in our open-plan living space. It's just too big not to have something like that!

Conor Mow-Lowry

Glad to hear that you're doing better! The shop is looking great ๐Ÿ‘ Thanks for sharing!

Roger A Tubbs

Good! just making sure you have a sense of humor

alan granofsky

I am also recovering from Covid. Had it last week. Nice to see you are getting better. Thanks for the updated video. Do not worry you will get the place organized.

Dan Delie

Glad to see you are getting better. I must say I like the behind the scenes vids. Thank you

Shane Thomas

Man, I'm so glad to hear that! What I do is basically entertainment, so we're really in the same game.

Rex Krueger

Then I'd have to go to the post office and that would take time away from making videos and stuff!

Rex Krueger

I don't think it's changed my life....but we're not out of the woods yet.

Rex Krueger

And a real job?

Rex Krueger

How kind of you to say so!

Rex Krueger

You all really are patient. It's appreciated.

Rex Krueger

It's 20x50ish. I've kind of set it up in a bullseye shape. The more I use something, the closer it is to the bench. The less I use it, it's further away. I'm also not storing anything in the main workspace. Those are the key points.

Rex Krueger

Thank you!

Rex Krueger

I really appreciate that.

Rex Krueger

I'm very much hoping I don't relapse. Taking a bit of a day "off" today.

Rex Krueger

It's a great comfort to me to know that you'll all still be here.

Rex Krueger

Built the shelving yesterday. We're getting there!

Rex Krueger

I plan on doing a very detailed video on storage and organization!

Rex Krueger

There's a lot of slow breathing over here!

Rex Krueger

Probably not, but fixing the problem is no mystery. I need to build and install absorption panels. All the stuff is on the way. Just another project....

Rex Krueger

I'm an overachiever for sure. It's been hard. You're totally right about that.

Rex Krueger

And to you! Thanks so much!

Rex Krueger

Thank you!

Rex Krueger

Man, I should buy stock in Gatorade!

Rex Krueger

Six months?!? Cardio rehab?!? Holy cats! That's insane and really gives me pause. Thank you for sharing. Please take care of yourself!

Rex Krueger

I wish I could do a big project, but it's not happening any time soon!

Rex Krueger

You'll be happy to know that I worked yesterday, but I'm taking today mostly "off" (still doing computer stuff.) It's a slow road.

Rex Krueger

I appreciate that so much! Thanks for the offer. I'm making panels next week (if the stuff actually gets here). We'll see how it sounds once I've treated it to the best of my ability.

Rex Krueger

And to you! Thank you.

Rex Krueger

I agree totally. Thank you.

Rex Krueger

It was neither mild nor kind!

Rex Krueger

Thank you!

Rex Krueger

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Having this space is helping me feel more creative.

Rex Krueger

Glad you are back and feeling better. Thanks for the behind the scene footage, I love the behind the scene footage. I work behind the scenes in live entertainment and believe it or not, your YouTube channel is one of the things that helped me get through covid and back to work. Thank for that.

Brendan Langord

you should get a PO box for people to send you stuff Rex.

David Hamilton

Glad that you're on the mend, Rex. COVID can be truly horrible; changed my life. The video was fun to watch. Thanks!

Jeff Stauffer

Get a haircut

alan granofsky

I am glad you are feeling better. Nice to see your smiling face.

Skully Wood and Metal

So glad everything is in great condition and still there Rex. Don't sweat the time it takes to recover from this COVID bout. Take all of the time necessary to get back to full function. I'd rather wait a month than have you try to put a video out and end up even sicker or worse. Don't forget, we are a patient lot or we wouldn't be doing woodworking with hand tools. Take care, stay hydrated and get all the rest you need.

Matt Evans-Koch

Great to see your healing. I love the tour Rex, whatโ€™s the size of the main work area? And what is the thought pattern to placement of your main tools? Iโ€™m struggling to use my 22โ€™x22โ€™ garage any suggestions will help. Canโ€™t wait for your next video.

Larry Grigsby

Welcome back!

Robert A Carbo

Take care of your self, we're fine with you taking it easy for a while.

Edward Conway

Just take care of yourself- covid is hard to recover from and relapses are the worst!

JJ Hoffman

glad your getting better, please take your time, do not hurry back we will still be here.

Darren Malin

Health first. Then shelving.

Andrew Watt

Wood and tool storage solutions you implement would be great videos, if you're short on ideas. But health first. Cheers

John Morrison

keep eating that elephant! Love the behind the scenes stuff. Take the whole covid thing slowly, keep breathing.

William Allen

Would a noise canceling microphone help with the echoes?

Daniel L. Quigg

An overachiever like yourself must be going a little nuts watching the backlog build up. Relax, take some time with your daughter. That is sheโ€™ll let you.

Richard C von Brecht

Rex, I am glad you are back and wish you well for your health and continued success in woodwork for humans. Best wishes

Paul Mouradian

Glad you're recovered/recovering! Looking forward to seeing some new videos :)

WG Studios

Glad to see your back! Rest and Hydrate

Kenneth Murphy

First instinct is to start the comparison to what each of us has gone thru... Then to offer up free advice... But, after it taking me over 6 months to get back to maybe 50%....I am hesitant to offer any advice that would bring the same results to anyone. But, then I am still alive... So, anywayhow....I got a lot of recommendations from laymen to rest, I got a lot of forceful commands from medical pros to work my way out of this.... I am finally in cardiac/pulmonary rehab and doing what has seemed to be the most beneficial....just pushing against the new limitations, and stretching the envelope...working in the direction of where I have been before. Prayers for clarity and direction.

Craig Thibodeaux

Great to see you back in the saddle and that your shop is intact. As others have said, get better and ease back into stuff. Plan all you want but easy on the Rambo projects.

Sean McGown

I like everyone else is glad to see you back but please heed the advice freely given.Take your time to get fully and completely over it. It can hang around like a bad smell, my first Dose of Covid-19 knocked me off my feet for 14 days and took months to get back to something like normal. Just take care and when you start to feel tired, REST. It really is the best medicine.

cliff whitefoot

Iโ€™m glad that youโ€™re feeling better and that you have found someone to help you with echo mitigation. If you would like another consultant on sound I have been mixing live bands in a large variety of venues for 42 years and would be more than happy to offer what I have learned.

Michael Gross

Best wishes from Germany

Gerhard Wรคger

Take your time get well, nothing is more important then your long term health.

Jamie MacDonald

The the milder, kinder Covid sucks! I'll have to catch the video when I'm off the clock but wanted to drop a quick 'get well soon'. Take it easy Rex.

Greg Preston

Take your time and don't rush your recovery. Hope you feel better soon.

WoodworkLearner

Good to hear that you're getting back on your feet, Rex My brush with the Covid-19 back in March 2020 left me feeling the long-effects of it all the way to early this year. But seeing your workshop coming along is one of the better cures for most things.
