Not saying Nolan was good, or right, but to play Devil's Advocate for a second, Nolan was born and raised by YNt Viltrumites and the comics establish he's at least 2000 years old. 20 years is nothing compared to that, and you can see multiple times in the fight between them- near the beginning- that Omni-man was conflicted about fighting him. That's why he hesitated after throwing him, and had to pause to convince himself to continue. This is just my interpretation of the fight, but I think Omni-man was trying more to convince himself that he needed to do that. I think he grew to love his family, but his 2000 years of life with the Viltrumites was conflicting with that. The way he was trying to convince Mark was actually what he was saying to himself to force himself to continue. But Mark's spirit is unbreakable, and Nolan realized he was wrong. He obviously couldn't just pretend he never beat Mark close to death, killed the Guardians(The immortal he killed twice) so he left. Still a terrible thing, and person, but I don't think he's fully a monster. And if I'm right, I want to see how Amazon handles his character in the future. Seasons 2 and 3 have already been confirmed
