SPOILERS! If you haven’t read Chapter 7 yet, you should do so before reading further.
Chris and Lily pursued Chooli's abductors across the New Mexico desert to an isolated ranch. There, they stumbled upon a mysterious facility deep underground, where parties unknown are apparently doing strange and horrifying things to their hapless victims!
Is it some sort of secret government laboratory, as Chris suspects? A research outpost belonging to a nefarious corporation? Whatever the case may be, it is imperative that Chris and Lily rescue poor Chooli before her captors do something strange and horrifying to her!
Chris and Lily overheard one of the abductors, Cassandra, talking to some sort of scientist who works at the facility - a woman they know only as 'Moreno.' Cassandra left to retrieve Chooli and bring her to this Moreno person so that she can be 'stabilized' for transport.
To their horror, Chris and Lily discovered what that might mean in a storage room they ducked into to evade being seen by Cassandra. To rescue Chooli, they will have to act swiftly. That means following one of those two women - but which one?
Cassandra is on her way to where Chooli is - but Cassandra looks like she could handle herself in a fight. Confronting her might turn out badly, especially if her colleague, Diego, is also there, as seems to be the case.
The mousy scientist, Moreno, is a far less impressive physical specimen. Chris and Lily would surely have no trouble subduing the scientist and setting up an ambush for when Cassandra arrives with Chooli. Right?
