Digital Damsel - Chapter 15, Part 1 Poll

SPOILERS! If you haven’t read part 1 of Chapter 15 yet, you should do so before reading further.

Diane decided to accept the young Gorgon’s proposal; one pretty Dark Elf in exchange for Ysabeau’s skull. However, that acceptance was dependent upon her ability to convince Reiko to go along with the exchange. Diane had no idea how her Mistress would react to the notion of snatching an innocent woman off the street and handing her over to a Gorgon.

Though Reiko was clearly annoyed that Diane had not followed her orders, the kunoichi did not appear to have any ethical qualms about the idea of kidnapping a living person to be turned into a statue. Why should she? So far as Reiko’s player was concerned, they were all just NPCs – even Diane herself. They existed solely for her personal entertainment.

However, a snag emerged once the dynamic duo had tracked down their quarry in Memorial Par. The Dark Elf that Lida desired for her collection was a Very Important Person, protected by a formidable bodyguard and possessing powerful magical abilities in her own right. Capturing Countess Ymogen Draskoya would not be an easy task!

Reiko decided that a stealth attack offered the best chance for success.

As a ninja, Reiko was ideally suited for such an attack, but Diane, as a winged, half-dragon monster, was not exactly designed for stealth. No problem! Reiko will have Diane employ her shapeshifting talents (so far mostly untested) to adopt a more innocuous form better-suited for sneaking up on the Countess and her guard, then switch back to her monstrous form to strike.

There are a few options Reiko can consider. The simplest would be to have Diane adopt a human form similar to her original one. The Countess and her guard would probably not consider a lone human girl to be much of a threat, although they might still be suspicious.

Alternatively, Reiko could have Diane adopt a form that would appeal to Ymogen’s taste for busty, sexy blonde Elves (a predilection well-documented in her NPC profile, which Reiko’s player has read). Ymogen might lower her guard for a pretty elf girl who strikes her fancy.

A more challenging test of Diane’s abilities would be for Reiko to have her turn into a common housecat. Surely, the Countess and her guard would pay no heed to the approach of a simple cat. Diane could saunter right up to them.

Of course, Diane doesn’t have much experience using her shapeshifting talent. Her last attempt did not quite turn out as expected; she turned into an inanimate object. Instructing her to turn into a cat might result in unforeseen consequences…
