ABR 6.4 - Beta testing SKSE implementation + Underwater Combat

File is Available for testing on the Discord Server Specifically the "releases" section. Normally I do testing in private but ABR is a big mod now and implementation of SKSE is a big feature so bigger and more feedback is required

One of the new features I really liked which was the new chainable heavy attack key was too rigid for a lot of people. Also it wasn't available for builds like spellswords. ABR was held back by a lot of things that could have been solved via SKSE, 

Thanks to brilliant coders like Dtry(Tyuan on the nexus), ABR now uses SKSE for:


-toggle keys for Grip switch

-toggle keys for Charged Attacks

-toggle keys for the new heavy combo keys


Also for Underwater combat, NPCs can also fight you underwater if you Use mine and Duff's recent Distance based Combat mod


hopefully this address the biggest concerns for the previous update! So we have everything 6.2 has but the legacy controls of previous versions which means new features + combos with other builds like spellswords

After installing the new update 6,7 I can get Two-Handed power attacks to work, but one-handed and dagger power attacks are still vanilla, and left attack doesn't do anything other than blocking. Am I missing something??

I had a couple issues about ABR that I wanted to bring up, as no one Discord seems to have been able to help. Firstly, for some reason, versions 5.9.2 and 6.2 of ABR seem to break my game. Whenever I install them, Skyrim starts in the background and then immediately closes itself and I get a system error log. This happens even if I uninstall ABR completely, and the only way I can fix it is by purging my entire load order and redeploying it. Strangely, though, 5.7.8 and 6.4.3, with the exact same animation files and going through the exact same installation process, do not cause this problem. Any idea why this could be happening? Secondly, version 6.4.3 seems to have an issue for me where performing a heavy attack after a light attack will first play half of the next light attack animation before actually playing the heavy attack. This makes combat feel really jarring and I'm not sure how to fix it. This doesn't happen with 5.7.8, though. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks!

Please, can I play normally without Animation Motion Revolution, because I am on 2.0.17 and cannot install Animation Motion Revolution

So, is the most recent version of ABR work with AE, I cannot find anything saying one or the other

I really hoped ABR will be the go to for combat mods. Features that i would like to see next is included dodge, parry/timed block etc. I know there are countless mods out there that features this but i really want to see Adri's take on these, considering how good ABR is

grip switch like CGO? does that mean i can completely replace CGO? Does the new update would comes with dual wield block too?

I've had a chance to test this and I enjoyed the changes! Underwater Combat is off to a nice start even with only have one set of animations. It does enable bows and crossbow to be used underwater, but their aiming animation twists in very odd directions. Power combo being configurable is great! Currently, I have it set to be my middle mouse button so I can keep all attacks on one hand. I think the default assignment for the F key may throw some people off. For me, its because I use True Directional Movement's lock-on setting that use F to target enemies and long press to switch to first person.
