Wow, amazing you were young when "Crying In The Chapel" was released! I'd love to be able to hear some of these older songs for the first time on the radio 📻

Week of Oct 2nd, 2024. This will give me 4 weeks done this time around. The Radiohead piece I absolutely loved. The guitar was so nice and the melancholy pace and sound of the song somehow were also comforting. The harmonies were so varied and in unusual combinations that they made me get goosebumps. The Fernando Sor Etude for guitar had me totally enrapt by its exquisiteness and then it was over! Way too short. I want to hear more! Voiceplay song from Lion King was a great video visually and I like it quite a bit, especially the way they utilized the background singers, but I hated the overuse of the deep bass as they often do and that took away a lot of the pleasure of it for me. The Ziggy song was really sweet and well done. I loved the voice and the smooth and soft way he used the guitar to add to the pleasure of the song without overwhelming it in any way. It makes me wonder how much I'd enjoy more from this singer as this one was wonderful imo. The Luis Miguel video was a pure pleasure. I loved all the scenery from Mexico and the general tone of the piece. 30 M views say that I must not be alone. Mexico should use the piece to advertise its tourism industry. And I suspect that they did. More should have been shown in the US and tourism would've gone up I'm sure. Nice song, wonderful video.

Week of Sept 25, 2024. The Spinners song was OK, but too repetitive and formulaic for me to really like it. I loved the 1598 choral piece. It had much more of a melody that I would have expected. Those two I listened to last week. First one tonight was the Fratelli's. I liked the song a lot, but it must have been a throwback of some sort as it didn't seem like a song from 2006, more like from 1976 or 1986. The video also seemed like a throwback, but the song itself was quite nice and I like the lead singer's voice. "Crying in the Chapel" really took me back. I would have only been 7 years old when it was released, and I didn't listen to music then at all, yet the song was very familiar. Almost like a precursor to Motown, it was so sweet and beautiful. Loved the lead's voice, smooth as silk. The Bon Entendeur piece was very different, but I enjoyed it quite a lot. Nice beat, interesting lead singer voice, and it's always nice to hear a song sung in French.
