Thanks for a new set of nice songs ✨ I love the Lord Huron song you put in there, glad to see someone else likes it tooπŸ₯Ή I’d like to share three songs I’ve listened to lots in the last few days in return to your ever faithful list of music. Sharing music is always a vulnerable thing, and I’m grateful for the songs you share with us! Flook- Jig for Sham set https://youtu.be/pG-BBy3228Q?si=-qXmCjLeHLmmvGlW been to one of their live performances last week, one of the best bands I’ve been to in a long while. People often underestimate Irish music. There’s depth if you take the time for it. I love the (counter) rhythms in the third, slower song. Sababa 5 - Shehzadi https://youtu.be/LjVNjOzk7Ow?si=ik0ckrG7ZcewNUy- Song has a nice summery feel to it. I like a band that fuses different genres and sounds well ✨ Jean Sibelius (played by the gothemburg symph. orchestra)- Andante Festivo https://youtu.be/FDVTHyPCMoQ?si=Rv08d20AZXUrslTn I recently went to a lunch concert where a youth string-orchestra was playing. I was touched to see those teenagers play this piece with so much depth. Blew me away. Hope you have a great day SH! Here’s to always having our ears blessed with beautiful sounds 🍻🎢

I was on a boat party several summers ago and there was a DJ on board who was playing music. I heard the Gibson Brothers track and went over to ask what it was - when I realised the DJ was my university housemate's best friend from their home area πŸ˜‚ Small world. Anyway... that's where I heard the song 🎢

Week of Sep 11, 2024. Gibson Brothers was a practically unknown song, so I'd be curious where you found it. But I enjoyed it quite a bit. Should have been a much bigger song for them than it was. Perhaps its very length inhibited it from doing better. No air play? The Purcell piece was lovely. I particularly liked the tenor solo. "Friday on My Mind" made me laugh. Not because there was anything wrong with the song, but merely because this was the CLASSIC 1960's presentation for any band post-Beatles. So obvious, yet they had a lot of views of this. Of course, they fit right in at the time! I think "Chains" was the first Avi song I heard. I loved his voice, of course, but I also liked that it didn't sound overly countrified. I'm a huge Vivaldi fan, so I wasn't surprised how much I enjoyed this. The countertenor was terrific singing in a role I suspect was originally assigned to a castrati. In any event, the music was lovely.
