If the elders think the new member is worthy, they hold a feast to celebrate them, and select one of their own to continue this tradition.

The fastest member of the huntresses was selected for this mission. It took her an unexpectedly long time to return with the report, but it seems like this new tribe is nothing to worry about. Further negotiations might be needed to discuss their rights to the hunting grounds.

Getting on the good side of the hyena clans is vital for every folks around the region. Even if they don't hunt that much nowadays, they still hold a big chunk of the hunting grounds as a bargaining chip. Luckily they select their bosses by might and not negotiation skills. They are easy to read, and always want the same thing.
Gratitude
The river crossing is as busy as ever, so it's very important to keep watch for aggressive ferals and the occasional raiders. The crocodiles doing this favor for everyone as they and their ancestors always did. There are a lot who wants to show them their gratitude, but their watch can't be interrupted, for the safety of others.
