RGB LED Daylight Simulator - Final Version

Alright, this video is now done. There is some kind of visual artifact after the intro that I don't know why happened but it did it twice with different renders. It make be a problem with the new version of the editing software I tried this time. I'll look into it more later to try and fix.

I'm less sure about this thumbnail, I don't really know how to summarize or tease this video in an image form.

I still need to put the description together and finalized the subtitles. But I'll probably be releasing this one friday. I've learned it's really a bad idea to release videos at the start or middle of the week.

I used an RPI because I wanted to have internet based time syncing. I could have got an ESP8266 for an MCU with WiFi but I had the RPI already and new python would work so I just wanted to get it done rather than optimize it forever.

Completely a curiosity, I have been kicking around a similar idea, not quite so daily dynamic... exactly, but rather changing with the seasons / holidays. Anyway, I am curious as to the decision between using a RaspberryPi over am Arduino / NodeMCU. Though, I do control the outdoor lights on my home with a BeagleBone Black. :)

I really like this idea. I live in a basement that has very few windows. My solution has been to just put a single strip of LEDs behind my main monitor and control it with the remote. This expands on that in a great way, and when I can find the time, I'll be investigating it a lot more. :) Thanks for sharing.
