Season 4 gets a mixed wrap but this and 5 are my favourites by far. That relationship thing is weird as all hell but it does make more sense later just have to grit your teeth through those moments since the rest of the season is brilliant

You really got me with the suggestion that Lilah would show up at Wesley's in character as various Angel Investigations employees trying to instigate sexy times 🤣 Re: the beginning scene with Angel going inside and "aarghh"-ing out smashing stuff, I don't know if it was *supposed* to be funny, but it definitely was! I truly think they were going for angst with most of the Connor / Cordelia / Angel stuff but because it's such an outlandish story and because we don't really know (and possibly the actors didn't truly know) where things are headed, everything just comes off as bizarre and absolutely comical. I would say every story on Angel has at least 1 - 2% of humor in it, it's an over the top supernatural soap opera so, sometimes you just gotta laugh. I also loved Angel telling Cordelia to leave at the end, that he didn't pussyfoot (pun only slightly intended 😆) around or ask for an explanation or anything like that. It's a believable reaction from him. Connor's reactions were also believable. Although he may be "of age", due to the circumstances of his childhood he is extremely naive about the grey areas of relationships and, sadly, remains easily manipulated. Not saying Cordy was necessarily trying to be manipulative, but she did instigate the situation and then she wasn't as clear as she could have been in the morning, and as far as I can remember he's never had sex before (?) -- so he probably feels manipulated. I wish that storyline wasn't overshadowing everything else in this episode, though, because we just saw possibly the end of Wolfram & Hart; the death of Gavin; Lilah / Wesley's relationship completely hit the skids; and basically the reintegration of Wesley to Team Angel. BTW, Lilah definitely has developed real feelings for Wesley by this point. The relationship didn't start out seriously for either of them, but you can see how worried she was when she went to check on him in the morning, and the fact she told him Connor was in the W&H building, I think are clear signals she had become invested. Lilah, however, is "evil" or at least believes herself to be evil, and therefore struggles with showing sincere emotion even if she is feeling it.

I find it very refreshing that you're not taking this too seriously. It seems to me a lot of fans overreact way too much to some aspects of the storyline this season, letting it get in the way of enjoying the rest of it. Don't ever change!
