2026-01-02 18:39:02 +0000 UTCThe ‘previously on’ section didn’t exist because people weren’t paying as much attention, it’s because the episodes were only available to you when the network decided to play them. They were coming out once a week at best when they first aired, and until the whole season was out, there was no way to rewatch them. If you missed an episode, you missed it. Maybe you’d be able to catch a rerun at some point, but good luck knowing when that might be. And even if you had seen every episode, the specific information you would need to remember might have been mentioned once several months ago, and you’ve had no way to rewatch it unless you happened to have recorded it live. DVR had only existed for a few years at this point, so most people wouldn’t have that yet. The previously on’s seem obnoxious now, but they were pretty vital when this was made.
