SPOILER ALERT! - If you have not watched the show before, don't read the following review until you have! :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Katara is a MENACE!

Loved this one, really good to see 'that side' of her again (which is completely understandable but... WOW, Katara! XD)!

We also see the return of a character I didn't think we would never see again...

Hope you had a great week, guys!!

Had to join your Patreon for this one! Love this show and so enjoying your reactions. Without giving spoilers I will say this is a small world and people will pop back up in the most unexpected places. Like the cabbage man.

I like how this episode shows that non-benders can hold their own against benders.

There's a theory that Iroh always knew the Lotus tile was in his sleeve and was simply using it as a way to steer Zuko toward Aang. But it was never confirmed so who knows. Love your reaction as always!

Fun fact: originally, that parrot-lizard-creature was meant to be Zuko's pet and more or less Momo's nemesis, and can be seen as such in the show's unaired pilot episode, but they scrapped that idea during production and it instead became the pirate captain's pet.

The next episode will be really good. I almost cant wait for it

I really like that moment at the end, when Iroh finds the Lotus Tile in his sleeve. a) It's such a common situation, that you keep looking for something that's right there, be it phone, keys, glasses or magic ring. b) It adds some insight into Irohs character. After all, why would he have a game piece up his sleeve, especially one so important for his particular playstyle, as he said? He's a great wise old guy, but still a bit mischievous at times, cheating his shipmates in games ...

Lukas

We love a chaotic katara 😁🥰 So glad you're still enjoying it and love how much you appreciate Katara

Rey's Got Plans

Yeah, I think "previously on" starts early in season 2 (although a few episodes in).. :) and Iroh needs the lotus tile for the white lotus gambit in Pai Sho... It's important stuff...! ;)

Lisette C.

A rare Zuko laugh, Aang's haggling technique and the birth of a new proverb - all combined and we get another great episode. Also, suspicious that we haven't seen the Fire Lord and Cabbage Guy in the same room...

STAYoung

that is a good point! I think maybe she originally thought this technique might be like the third or fourth she would teach, but she got too fed up with Aangs ease in learning water bending to even get there. That's my head canon I just came up with at least.

PumpkinSparks

Cabbage Man is back!!!!!!!!!!! I was not kidding, when I hyped that mans importance ;)

PumpkinSparks

I always assumed the earth kingdom person, who bought the scroll, to be a collector. Like, even in our world there are enough rich people, who buy art and artifacts for no other reason than its rarity and expensiveness - and then store them in some vault like thing for noone to ever see them... Like sure, if you have the money to spare, spend it! Buy all the things! Build your collection! But then put them on display for everyone else to be able to admire them and learn from them! Ugh, I hate those people... but yeah, I always assumed that person to be that kind of collector. ... or as non existent. It is a common bartering technique to claim something is already claimed, so the other person will pay pretty much whatever you say...

PumpkinSparks

Suki is from kyoshi island, its easy to remember when you know more about kyoshi, shes my favorite avatar we get to learn about.

Cari Ann

I am curious why katara didnt teach aang to freeze the water, that was probably one of her first moves she used in fighting. (She was doing it backwards than)

Cari Ann

There's a meme that says when people say I am to old to watch cartoons, it has iroh saying "you, like most people, underestimate its value" Love that meme.

Cari Ann

I think the 'previously on' don't start until season 2 so you're good for now! They do kinda reveal key plots for the certain episode so since this is your first watch I do recommend skipping them unless you took a break or something.

Eve

Ahh yes. Another episode of Appa: The Last Sky Bison. That's goooood.
