Hi guys! And Merry Christmas!! This is the movie that you voted number 1 on the Christmas Poll, and it is pure Christmas treat!!

Be sure to let me know which is your favourite Muppet, as well as your favourite Muppet movie (I had only seen one before this XD)

As always, you will need your own copy of the movie to sync too. When I was researching this, there seems to be a 1 hour 23 minute version, but the more common one is the 1 hour 25 minute version (1:25:57 to be exact), which is the version we are using today! I hope this works well for everyone!

As of this post, there is still time to vote on a second Christmas movie, which I will 'try' and get to you if I am able too!!

Hope you are having an awesome week, guys!!

I would highly recommend checking out the 1951 version at some point. Alastair Sims rendition is just so great at portraying Scrooges indifferent cruelty and his genuine redemption. Its also my favorite Christmas movie, which might shock some people considering that I'm only 26

in my opinion this is the best telling of A Christmas Carol. the Muppets invoke the emotions so much better the live action. Muppet = Gonzo. runner up Animal Sesame Street = Oscar the Grouch

The love is gone is a great song and is played b4 Rizzo cries (it's also the reason he is crying) also, Michael Cain joins in the singing b4 he can't due to crying too much.

My partner told me that her family used to make them pause the DVD, then go and find the VHS version, just to watch that scene, then go back to the DVD again 😆

Garry (Not Jerry)

It’s probably the best song in the whole movie.

I love the Muppet Treasure Island!!!

If you haven't you should see the deleted scene which features in the extended version where Belle sings the song "The Love is Gone". My understanding is it was pulled as children found it a bit too sad/boring, but it's the version I grew up with and it just isn't the same without it. My family watches this movie every year, often on Christmas Eve.

This was the first Muppets movie Jim Henson's passing. Probably why Kermit had a smaller role. It's still jarring to me hearing his new voice even thought I love the movie. And IMDB says it's why Rowlf doesn't have a roll, "Rowlf the dog, the character whom Jim Henson felt closest to, had played an important part in all Muppet productions up to this point. As a suitable replacement voice actor had not been found, the dog only has a non-speaking cameo in the film." I so agree with you. Michael Caine playing it straight was the best choice. And having Gonzo play Dickens and narrate means they could use text from the actual novella. Genius. Rizzo is in Muppets Take Manhattan. And if you like bunnies you should look into another Henson project, Tales of the Bunny Picnic.

This is a must-watch every Christmas for my family, and in fact I didn't even bother to sync up my own copy alongside yours because I was just watching in my head. One of the best adaptations if not the best adaptation of A Christmas Carol ever! There are a couple book details they omitted that I would have liked to see (Scrooge's childhood family life, and a bit with Present showing Scrooge Ignorance and Want), but they may not have fit the tone of the Muppets, so I don't mind too much. The comedy, tragedy, sets, dialogue, songs, acting, costumes, and of course the incredibly skillful puppetry make this an absolute classic. (And my favorite Muppet movie, though to be fair I haven't seen very many. We were more of a Fraggle Rock household, which is also Jim Henson.)

Michael Caine is my favourite portrayal of Scrooge by far. His subtle microexpressions and reactions make me tear up every time, especially in the past segment, and his tearful breakdown in the graveyard is so powerful. As you said throughout, the fact that he played the role so straight and sincere is why it's so good. I'm not generally a huge Muppets guy, but I watch this every year 💜

My absolute guilty pleasure every Christmas! Love this movie and knew you would love this to. Merry Christmas everyone!

At some point in the film, they pass a shop named Micklewhites, which is Sir Michael Caine's real surname

The way I immediately jumped on this! I knew you would love it. It's just great. Micheal Cain being so sincere, the songs are bangers, the costuming is incredible and I think it is the most accurate adaptation of the book. I saw a youtube video about how much work went into the costumes and how accurate they are to the time period and I just love it more for that. I would love a Muppet Treasure Island reaction as well! I also love TIm Curry.

I just watched this for the first time recently and was very surprised they had humans in it as well 😄 I think Kermit is my favorite muppet though this is the only muppet show I’ve ever seen 😁 It was pretty sweet and nice but I think I still prefer the Starkid VHS Christmas Carol :) But this one did have some awesome songs as well 💚

Emma

Great! Hope I will find time to watch it in the next days ☺️ And omg, Love Actually and Santa Clause are tied in the poll. That's too much excitement for me 😂😱
