####### EPISODE SPOILER REVIEW BELOW! APPARENTLY SOME OF YOU ARE WATCHING FOR THE FIRST TIME ALONG SIDE ME, SO PLEASE DON'T READ BEYOND THIS POINT UNTIL YOU HAVE SEEN THE EPISODE YOURSELF! ######
------
OH MY GIDDY AUNT!!
Another great episode, and that ending got me took, line and sinker (not very vegan)!
Great plot development with Faith, and looks like Weasley is... 'slowly' becoming one of the team ( / leader XD )
We also talk about last week's wonderful episode for nearly 15 minutes! So sorry, I wasn't checking the time! XD
Hope you guys are having a great weekend!
As always, if you click the video just after this post, you may need to download it first. This should be fixed in a couple of hours!

I mean the others were clearly not in on the plan, since: 1. Weasley straight up chides Giles for not letting him in. 2. Xander's whole "I told you so"-scene would make less than 0 sense if they all knew Angel pretending to turn was part of the plan.

2023-09-01 19:30:00 +0000 UTCOh yeah, definitely. I mean the point of a reaction video is to get your reaction. And you making predictions that may or may not turn out to be true is part of that!

2023-09-01 19:27:37 +0000 UTCI just wanted to comment about her being 3rd, because really Buffy killed it in that scene!

2023-09-01 19:26:31 +0000 UTCCan't wait until you get further along the series, it keeps getting better. I will say, my heart does hurt a lot for Faith. It's clear that she's gotten the short end of the stick far too many times in her short life and it's heartbreaking that she really does view Buffy as better than her in all aspects. The relationship between the Mayor and Faith always gave me the ick. Way more than the Wesley/Cordelia pair.

2023-08-29 01:12:05 +0000 UTCThat Arcane intro was friggen fantastic :) 1990's + 2020 combo was nice

2023-08-28 11:26:36 +0000 UTCTbf, Faith was Giles’ responsibility until Bad Girls. Not Joyce’s, or Buffy’s. He agrees to act as her watcher until another is assigned, but all he does for her is occasionally let her tag along to train with Buffy.

2023-08-28 06:10:11 +0000 UTCI am gutted that someone spoiled the fact that there is a musical episode for you :( and you did get a prediction right, but I am not going to say which one or when it comes true. :P

2023-08-28 02:48:54 +0000 UTCAlso, this episode isn't one that I particularly like. I never bought the whole Angel going bad thing, even the first time I watched it, and the Faith storyline always was one I didn't care for. 3/10

2023-08-28 02:29:31 +0000 UTCGotta chime in with a bit of nuance - yes, Faith is out of line. Yes, she is overreacting. But just think about her life compared to Buffy's - the advantages Buffy has had that Faith has not. Buffy has had a mother and a stable home life. That cannot be emphasized enough. And yes, people without parents have not done things like this, but that's not the point. Shall I point out that Buffy and her mother have a guest room and never ONCE invited Faith over to stay there? They just let her stay in that dingy motel room alone every night. They had her over for food once, saw that she clearly is not being fed at all, and never invited her over again. Faith is utterly alone, and Buffy has a unique and strong support system. So to look at it completely black and white, like "Buffy good, Faith bad," is to overlook some very important aspects of Faith's backstory that should be recognized.

2023-08-28 02:23:58 +0000 UTCThere are several people in the show who pronounce it AN-gel-us, accent on the an, so no need to correct anyone.

2023-08-28 02:21:41 +0000 UTCI love how your brain works haha! Talking about one topic then randomly excitedly shouting out a word or sentence seemingly unconnected and moving on to that instead 😆 also you say so many things that I'm dying to say references to that come up later in the show. It's hard not to comment, but I'd never spoil. I like this episode but it does bug me a tiny bit with timelines. Presumably, as you said, after willow tells buffy to talk to angel, she does and they work out the plan. But then after that, in the library with the others, buffy is still acting like she's concerned angel is "missing" and so is faith. Why is she acting in front of the others, who are surely in on the plan? I get that its to keep the audience in the dark, but it's weird looking back, it doesn't make much sense

2023-08-28 01:26:38 +0000 UTCI also always thought he looked so much paler as Angelus. More vampiric. How funny it would have been if Angel had run out to get some eyeliner before meeting the mayor, just for the sake of getting in character lol.

2023-08-27 23:57:41 +0000 UTCDo we ever find out how old Wesley is? He seems like he's fresh out of Watcher school, but then how on earth did he land this gig so fast? Cordelia is over 18 so if he's just meant to be like 21 or something, I think it's fine. It's not like he's her teacher. Joss doesn't write all the episodes though, so he doesn't decide how many Xander vs Willow eps there are... But it would be interesting to find out whether he is given the Xander-centric ones to write, I don't know.
Maggie
2023-08-27 23:56:05 +0000 UTCTickled by the Angelus pronunciation. It's an-GEL-us, accent on the gel, just think of his hair and you'll be good to go.

2023-08-27 23:53:49 +0000 UTCPlease don't stop your predictions, whether in jest or seriousness! Really, it is so much fun for us, and I know I giggle at them because I know what's to come. Some things, we can't breathe a single word about, not even a hint, but believe me, I'm writing things down to remind you later on. While you might annoy yourself with predictions, I think they show you in a positive light, that you're insightful and that you really think about the series. It doesn't matter if you're wrong, right, or half-and-half; your insight is entertaining and satisfying to see.

2023-08-27 21:48:32 +0000 UTCI love how you call him Angelos instead of Angelus, sounds like a Mexican soap opera character 😂 and I'd have to argue Faith is 3rd best actor, not second- totally forgot Buffy was in on the ruse! "Wesley's lost a slayer...but he's gained a Cordelia" 🤣🤣🤣

2023-08-27 20:37:06 +0000 UTCOh man, my brain got completely mixed up! Of course, Wesley isn't the librarian! XD Thanks for pointing that out, Hanneli!
VEGGIE GAMER
2023-08-27 20:19:16 +0000 UTCI don't believe Wesley is the librarian. He's just constantly walking about the school unmolested. So, if Cordelia is already 18 (TV characters usually have birthdays early in the school year so quite likely), there wouldn't actually be anything "wrong" with their having a relationship.

2023-08-27 20:17:25 +0000 UTCOmg!!! Congratulations and commiserations, how are you feeling after finishing? I was bereft of emotion for about a week straight while I tried to process the loss of the show from my life 😂 And wait, does that mean you watched Angel first?

2023-08-27 19:25:32 +0000 UTCFascinating hearing your predictions, even if we can't confirm or deny them- please keep it up! I just finished watching the final season of Buffy for the first time last night; all I'll say is there's quite a ride ahead!!! By the way, forewarning you after the cold open: while Buffy might be, Angel is definitely *not* a family show! 😂

2023-08-27 19:12:40 +0000 UTC“Second best.” What an amazing line!!!! This one is so good and so satisfying like you say. It’s my favourite Angel episode as I don’t love him much otherwise. I wish Buffy and Angel were able to celebrate at the end but I understand why it was hard to see Angel “evil” again after everything and with Faith, as it’s clearly an insecurity. Particularly because Buffy can’t really be physical with Angel the way she wants to be. Season 3 is just so good, there’s so many amazing, iconic episodes back to back. We’ve flown through it!!! You might have to do a whole video talking about your favourite episodes/arc/characters etc at this rate!!!

2023-08-27 18:59:10 +0000 UTCI wrote a end-of-term paper on Buffy at university. I'm not about to compain when someone talks at length about their enjoyment of the show. This is such a great episode. When I first watched it, it very much felt like all the catastrophes were piling on top of each other. I was so relieved that we at least averted one. lol When you re-watch (say, to do the Youtube edit), you'll note that David (the actor) doesn't act like Angelus at any point in this episode. The words he says sound like what Angelus would say. The attitude resembles what you'd expect from Angelus. But remember Angelus's presence, the way he held himself, the way he moved, the way he looked at people... the guyliner. And you can tell that it's not Angelus. That's obviously not something you can catch on first viewing, but it's clear when you know what's going on. 8.5/10 and favourite line goes to Angel: "Second best," which is what Faith will always be.

2023-08-27 17:49:18 +0000 UTCQuite a long intro (not complaining) I poured a glass of wine (bank holiday tomm :)) and had drank it before the episode started.

2023-08-27 17:48:02 +0000 UTCOkay!!! I’m so excited. Watching the intro and I will say that maybe a preference for Xander comes from the creator of the show, Whedon, saying Xander was based on him. So that makes sense that he gets more attention as it’s Joss’s self insert in the show. Justice for Willow!!!! Edit: Also the Wesley and Cordelia stuff is creepy and weird, it does not put Wesley in a favourable light in my eyes!!!
