"... Americans..."

Hi guys!  What a thought provoking episode!  It had me thinking of several plot lines that didn't come true, and made me think about every character in a light I wasn't expecting.  I expect a great discussion on "that argument" in the comments!  As for the episode it's self, another great Solid Side Quest!

Giles was TOP TIER in this episode, for several different reasons. XD

Love you, guys! Hope you have a great weekend!

As always, if you click the video just after this post, you may need to  download it first.  This should be fixed in a couple of hours!

THANK YOU. I am with Buffy on this, too. I think she maybe could have written or called, yeah, but if she had to deal with her emotions quietly then that's completely okay. Buffy tried to connect with the others when she got back, too. I guess they were so angry though. But Giles was great. He didn't bombard her or tell her she was stupid. Love him. THANKS SO MUCH! :D

I think enough has been said about the fight. All I'm gonna say is every time I see one of the windows or doors broken and houses get wrecked I stress out because how much are they paying every week in repairs? Also I think this is the first episode to debut the Sunnydale Downtown set (which includes the Espresso Pump, that neat little coffee shop at the end).

I enjoy this episode; I think it's necessary to work through everyone's feelings rather than just pretending everything is normal after Buffy shows up. One thing I greatly appreciate about this show is it's willingness to explore emotional dynamics.

Superplin

i just listened to the part about what the other teachers would think if the knew about Lupin being a werewolf. Especially Professor McGonagall. It got me thinking about the Order of the Phoenix. Does anyone remember whether or not McGonagall was in the original Order? I know Lupin was. Because if she was, than she knows about Lupin.... Just a random thought!

It's funny everyone keeps saying that Buffy killed Angel but we know that a sword through the middle isn't going to be fatal and Drue and Angelus were trying to open that portal to hell expecting to go there with everything else so logically that won't be fatal. And before anyone yells spoilers these are the rules we already know about vampires. Just thinking about the situation.

Interesting episode that I barely remembered. Everyone just seems to be letting their emotions get the better of them and lashing out. Lots of hurt and misunderstanding going on. And a zombie cat. No wonder I wanted to forget it. XD I'm kind of sad that Oz didn't get to "speak his piece" since I feel like he routinely "speaks peace" and maybe could have calmed people down a little. Also, I just love Oz. :D I watched Mr. Belvedere as a kid. I remember it being a rather heartwarming show about a butler who is so wise and endearing that he becomes a beloved part of the family despite the fact that he's British. (j/k) I'm sure it's a bit silly looking back, but as a kid I enjoyed it.

Watching the first stretch of this season and focusing on Oz (because I love Oz), I am always struck by how much he just gets the sh*t kicked out of him almost every episode. Boy's gonna have bruises for days. Also, Xander is, to say the least, not at his best for most of this episode. But! I do love that as soon as the zombies attack, he and Buffy seamlessly coordinate defense. "I've got your back." For me, that's a hallmark of his character. He's frequently selfish and/or callous in lighter or less immediately dangerous moments, but when sh*t hits the fan, he's right there to help.

Cripes...I'd blocked this one out of my memory. So uncomfortable to watch something so relatable (alienation, not the zombies XD). Buffy didn't act perfectly by running away, but nor does the attitude of Xander et al help. For some reason, my head remembered part of it being down to the mask's aura. I got exactly the same vibe sbout Pat, she reminded me of Ted. It felt like Pat was goading Joyce into voicing her negative thoughts. Like Palpatine to Anakin. Also, that party...what a terrible idea. Kinda selfish of the gang to organise it without checking with Buffy OR Joyce, whose bloody house it is! One last point- I don't think Buffy new specifically about the eyes. She just wanted to blind Pat, kinda like Fawkes and the Basilisk in Chamber of Secrets. Common videogame sense, to go for the glowing spot! XD

The problem with calling the girl from the last episode Amy from now on, is what about the other Amy who is a witch? Don't want you getting confused, given it's not even her name XD
