Buffy Fridays! Season 2 Episode 12 First Time Reaction!

... This one made me feel so ill! XD WHAT a creepy episode!  There is one scene in particular that really freaks me out (see if you can spot it XD).  Definitely another sold Side Question episode with a really horrible villain!  Always love seeing so much Joyce though, so that was a plus!

Also - a quick apology.  I got so completely confused when Buffy sees the woman in the mirror at the start.  I also then start rambling on about 'X-Men Arcade', because I see it in the background. XD

This was a great one, but I wouldn't be too disheartened if this is the last we see if this villain...

Seriously.

Love you guys! Hope you have a great week! Harry Potter Book Club coming very soon!!

yes, being the slayer does not give the right to 'kill" she and the duty to destroy daemons. but to kill a person is a completely different thing. moral she should be held to a higher standard do to her training the same as military and martial artist above a point in there training. they are considered to be a deadly weapon do to the training they have. them using there hands is like a "normal" person using a knife. the law does not know she has the training.

the fact Veggie though Xander said "that's my bum" and not bump after Cordi hit him made me laugh so much

The Gorches are Lyle and Tector.

It's incredibly irritating when you tease us with ideas that we cannot confirm or deny in case of spoilers 😂 all will become clear in a couple of years time! (Your excitement over the arcades was adorable 😅)

About the lesson, with the teacher using eggs to teach teens about parenting. That was a thing around the time this show was on in the US (and Canada, where I'm from). Teachers would give each student in the class an egg to care for, which they had to treat like a real baby. The fragility of the egg and having to be so careful with it translates well to how you have to treat a baby. I believe they still have those lessons, only now they use mechanical dolls. And at the time of this episode, same sex relationships were accepted more than they were ten years before, but they still hadn't become accepted to the point where lessons like this would incorporate them. Teachers would have ended up getting in trouble for doing that, and in fact, the show runners wouldn't have been allowed to show the lesson that way. They wouldn't have been permitted to air it.. So yes, in this episode, it makes sense that all the couples are boy-girl.

I also didn't realize the mirror thing immediately...though it dawned on me when I didn't see the "third" escalator when Buffy turned around an went back up🤔🙂 I overall quite enjoyed the episode (apart from the uncomfortable sex ed class where they let you babysit eggs instead of teaching you about something actually helpful like safe sex...) and the scene in the bedroom had me completely on edge *shudder*!

I quite like Bad Eggs, but I understand why many/most don't. It's the classic cheesy 70s/80s horror feel that does it for me, and I don't even like horror films really. Not my favourite episode or anything, but in my top 10 of this season if I go by the ones I enjoy the most and not necessarily those I think are the "best".

Zoo

It's definitely my least favourite of the season but not necessarily bad by any means, just lacking a bit of something for me and since it’s such a stand-alone I never really re-watch it. This is why I love watching reactions though because it's great to see the episode again from a first-time perspective. Excited to see your reaction to the rest of the season and show overall, some absolutely amazing episodes i'm looking forward to rewatching with you.

Also, Regarding the intro. No hate of course. But I will leave you with one thought: “With great power comes great responsibility”

Garry (Not Jerry)

The escalator scene confused me for years until a reactor said it was a mirror and that the vampire wasn't reflecting... So I give you full credit for figuring it out on your first watch. I had seen the episode several times before and never understood what was happening in that scene before someone explained it to me lol.
