LOVED this 2 parter!!  Makes you really think about how Buffy is so different than what a Slayer is usually expected to be!  We get a lot of character progress for several of the gang including...

....

well, one bit that blows my mind.  XD See if you can guess what bit!

Again, this feels like an 'end of series' story, so crazy to think we still have so many more.  This story definitely did not disappoint though!

As always, if you click this soon after it is posted, you may need to download the video instead of stream it.  This should be fixed in an hour or so!

Love you guys!  Hope you are having an excellent weekend!

I always liked pineapple on pizza. The Italians are offended by it for some reason.

I like to year that you're a man of good taste since you like pineapple on pizza🙂🙃

I always liked Kendra, and it’s nice for Buffy to have someone to bond with. The movie is fun but I’m not sure that’s it’s going to entirely answer your questions!

Another fun one, excited to hear you're gonna check out the movie shortly :D hopefully it doesn't let you down.

Kendra came because of the dark power rising in Sunnydale (Druscilla) so that’s why it was happening at the same time as the ritual because the ritual is what would make Druscilla rise as a dark power. I think maybe it’s a 9 for me but I think I still prefer some of the episodes to come this season. It’s so hard when I love it all??

Greetings from Alaska! Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie has no real connection to the series, and the lore in it is incomplete or doesn't fully tie in to the series. It has its merits, though the humor style isn't to everyone's taste (I liked it, myself), but watching it isn't likely to alter your take on the series, and it won't spoil anything either. The only things the series really took from the film is the age Buffy was told who she was and the reference in Princess Flutie's (R.I.P.) office about what she did at her old school. It's very interesting to note that Kendra's calling as a potential Slayer was recognized when she was a young child, and she was trained from a very early age on what being a Slayer would entail. Though we don't have the full history of Buffy yet, we can surmise from what we've seen so far that she was already a teenager (references to "high school") and it came as a shock to her; she didn't have Kendra's early training start, so having a social life for Buffy is essential to her mental health. That's about all I can say without revealing anything spoiler-y, as this series will continue giving lore as the seasons go on. I always found it interesting that they put in a Willy in the show (and yes, Americans also use "willy" in a snickering way, LOL) when in the old Gothic soap opera series Dark Shadows, the vampire Barnabas Collins had Willie Loomis to do his bidding during the daylight. I think it's just a coincidence, though, as I haven't seen any other Dark Shadows references on the show that I can recall. Yeah, I like the concept of Willy and his bar, but that sleazy, predatory asking of two *underage* girls to do nude photos is so gross, that it kind of overshadows. It was sick at the time of original airing, and time has not made that any better. Buffy is 16 years old, and Kendra appears to be around that same age. Ugh! I wish they had turned around and kicked his scrawny arse for that. As for the "very dark power" Kendra was sent to Sunnydale to stop, we saw at the end that she didn't succeed, although the heroes all believe it was a success. The dark power rising was Drusilla being back at full strength, as we saw when she shrugged off the heavy debris, picked Spike up with one hand, and carried him away. They didn't stop the ritual in time. The world has more than one Hellmouth, but there is only one Drusilla. She is darkest evil and completely insane.

I do disagree on this. It might be true but since Marti Noxon has said that the accent was a last minute decision and they brought a dialect coach in on short notice. Im more likely to think thats a cover for it being a poorly done Jamaican accent or at least, too hard a dialect to learn properly on short notice. I may be totally wrong but since the specific dialect has never been mentioned, it just seems weird to me.

Also Kendra gets a lot of flack for having a "bad accent" because it's not the same as the typical more generic accents more often seen on TV. Bianca Lawson was trained in a very specific dialect that is very real but not well known in America, and so immediately people were like "WHAT IS THAT ACCENT IT'S SO FAKE" when really they just hadn't heard it before, so they assumed it couldn't be real

Regarding why Kendra hasn't come to Sunnydale sooner - there are vampires all over the world. There may even be more hellmouths all over the world. I don't think Giles said this was the only one.

I love this episode so much. It's got that perfect mix of humour and drama that the show does so well when it is at its best. Loved watching your reaction to it all, especially Willy and Cordelia/Xander. Fortunately, I can't think of anything else to add at this point as I broke my right arm Wednesday and typing with my left hand is incredibly tedious. 9.5/10 Freddie

Frederique Gillespie

So excited to watch this!!! Hope you’re doing well Veg !!!
