Hi guys! Another crazy one today! XD Really enjoyed it though and had some great moments! The plot is... just silly, but in the absolute best way possible! XD

We also have a couple of... unexpected exits! 0_0 #RIPHerbert

As always, let me know your thoughts on this episode below!

Love you all! Hope you have an awesome Weekend, completely free from Hyena-possessed bullies!

Buffy Fridays! Season 1 Episode 6 First Time Reaction!

Wonderful reaction. THANK YOU! :D So fun! Poor Flutie :(

I'm still catching up on your Buffy reactions, but the majority of fans do request that a first-viewing of this show be watched in the standard definition. The HD remaster or "disaster" shows the stunt doubles so clearly as well as cameras and floor mats. It's just bad because the lighting was enhanced way too much in the remaster. It was originally filmed in the shadows to hide cameras and mats lol, so lighting up those shadows is just a bad move. You're forgiven if you do watch the HD version, but it would be more enjoyable for you as a first-time viewer if you watch the standard so that you're not taken out of a scene because of a cameraman in the background ruining the vibe lol. THANK YOU so much!

Definitely not one of my favourite episodes, but also not my least favourite either. I think I found new appreciation for this episode through your reaction though which is great so I thank you for that!

If you can, please go for the standart version. The HD version is badly cropped (or more precisely, not cropped at all) which leads to things being in the shot that were never supposed to be there, because it was shot in wide, but then cropped down originally, so wheadon knew how far away things would have to be to _not_ be in the shot. and for some reason they turned all the brighness up to 11, making some mood shots just completly innefective

I remembered this episode as worse than it actually was, so it was great to see it again. The fact that Giles covered for Xander so he wouldn't have to help Buffy and Willow get closure for what he'd done to them was inexcusable when I was remembering this from so long ago, but in the actual episode, Buffy was not scared for her safety for a second, she was scared that she would have to injure xander but then he suffered no real head trauma after being knocked out (cuz tv logic) so what she was actually scared about didn't turn out to be a thing, and Xander did make sure to reassure Willow that he really does love her, even while he was pretending to not remember, so yes, it's not that bad that Xander is pretending to have forgotten, and overall it's a great episode. That pig was so cute omg! RIP Herbert. Flutie is missed for a very long time too. Poor Flutie. Knowing how the background story of our main characters is revealed over the series, it's clear sometimes that the writers didn't know what they were going to write and I wish we could have seen how these plots interact with those details. Oh well.

This episode was not my favourite. It's excellent, don't me wrong, but it cut so close to the bone... It was very uncomfortable. I loved your reaction, though. Absolutely loved it. You're so thoughtful and compassionate. It's lovely.

The remastered version is really really bad in fairness but considering it’s so much easier to find I don’t think it’s the end of the world if you keep using it. You can really notice the difference at the start of this episode (see 05:15), the close up of Xander’s face is awful, like old age makeup on a weird Ken doll. It doesn’t look like that on the original, promise!

At least where I lived, in that timeframe, they did. It was commonly said that only doctors and drug dealers had them. My mom only had one because she couldn't get personal phone calls at work, and she needed a way for us kids to let her know if we needed to talk to her asap.

Poor Xander, if I'd have to remember that I'd probably die of embarrassement🙈😅 Also: I haven't seen Buffy beyond season 1 so I don't really have an opinion on the SD/ HD thing. I'd assume that using the SD version couldn't hurt (since fans seem to agree it is superior) but I'll watch along with you whichever version you choose🙂

Lol, I didn't know that pagers had that kind of reputation🙈😅

Flutie is my favorite in this episode. The show supposedly is supposed to take place in or nearby Santa Barbara, CA (makes no sense to me). Man, if Buffy had a pager, imagine how much the administration would think she were up to no good. At that time, at least where I lived (low income area of Southern California), they always said only drug dealers had pagers. They were banned from schools where I lived. My sister was in high school at this time, and she took my mom's pager to school one day. It was seen, confiscated, and my mom had to leave work to go pick it up from the school.
