Hi guys! Sorry for the wait on this, took like.. 6 or 7 hours to process on Youtube! XD (no surprise going on the length). Remember, you will need your own copy of the EXTENDED version of the movie!

As always, there will be a Timecode to help you sync, AND if you check every 15 minutes (on the Timecode, not the video time), a quick flash up for the movie will appear, so if you get lost, you can always fall back to the previous one and get resynced!  These appear just above the Timecode if you haven't noticed them before! :)

Love this one!  Thanks so much for all the awesome comments for Fellowship!

Let me know who your favourite character is in this one! I 'think' I know who mine was! XD

I hate to be the "the books are better" one but the Faramir character assassination in these films will never not anger me. This is the main reason I have often skipped the second film when rewatching the series. I told myself this time I can handle it but the Faramir scenes are making me physically ill again! (not me being a drama queen :D ) I would definitely recommend doing the book club for Hobbit and LOTR Veggie, if only to get to meet the real Faramir, who is the most awesome character, definitely the best in these books for me! (Might be my favourite character in all the books I ever read)

Katik

Proud to say I got the tree wizard reference :)

Koala

LOTR - yeah! Also - since you mentioned a book club for those books - I think those are more managable then Harry Potter, since the 4 (Hobbit and LOTR each) are just as slim as Harry Potter 1/2 once you get past the first two Potters - the become BIG - especially th 4th and last They are worth it - but they grow big and are full of things NT in the books (not saying what though) - but as you already saw with the first one the characters are way deeper in the books. I am in for either. I loved both book series (yeah me the book nerd)

Dara Jeeling

So sorry for the wait, Polis!! The way I have to do these there is often a delay, but I hope to get it up on here in the next few days! :) Looking forward to it!

VEGGIE GAMER

LOTR ROTK? When? .˘˘

Valanthor

Ohh, the detail with the eyes is really cool, I never noticed that 😮

Diego Zenhäusern

Sorry for the late comment - I've been a bit busy.. Merry wasn't acting when Pippin said he was hurt. He just didn't want Pippin to worry. A pretty awesome detail - when Smeagol and Gollum are talking to each other, his pupils change. When he's Smeagol his pupils are larger and they're smaller when he's Gollum. Also, The Battle of Helm's Deep is probably the best battle sequence in cinema history (the one in the third one is debatable as well). Probably my favorite line of the movie - "Shall I describe it to you? Or should I find you a box?" LOL. Can't wait for the next one!

Aegis Duensing

i recently read the fellowship, i believe that the 17 year gap is much longer in the book. i was peeved with gandalf for leaving for so long

Kega

What is it with everyone getting hurt during the filming of this movies xD?

Diego Zenhäusern

This one has always been my fave too! I don’t think there’s a single scene in it that I don’t enjoy in one way or another. The battle scenes are amazing, and then there are the horses, Gollum, ents, Sam’s speech, and the ending is just perfect. Seeing it for the first time in the movie theatre is my single greatest movie experience ever, and miiight have contributed to my bias towards it.

Hilde

I’ve just ordered the trilogy on BlueRay and will watch along with you. I’ve avoided doing it for so long, but having having you ‘with me’ to experience it for the first time will make me enjoy it I’m sure.

Éowyn has always been one of my favorite characters. The Two Towers is my personal favorite out of the three, probably because it focuses on Rohan and its people, and not so much on Frodo and Sam. I love them both but their journey is very bleak and lonely compared to the others.

emmainkeri

The reason for Gollum’s reaction when they arrived at the black gate is that he was tortured by the orcs to figure out where the ring was, right at the beginning of Fellowship of the ring. Eowyn is actually one of my favourite characters from the series. I didn’t really like her when I first watched the movies but especially after watching Return of the king extended edition I changed my mind about her. I admire her courage and her will to fight for her people. I think it is really cool to have an excellent female fighter in the movies. Also I want to give so much info about the behind of the scenes like some already did in the comments. But I’m just gonna kindly ask you to watch the making of after Return of the king. 😊

Random bts facts: - When Sam ran in to the water in the first film, there was a big shard of glass a couple meters in and it went right through Sean Astin's foot. It was really bad. - Majority of the horsemen in the movies are women, as well as several of the orcs. - All orcs that you see forging steel are the real life smiths that forged the weapons, and they're really doing it on screen. - The Rohan flag getting ripped off (which you said was symbolic) in the wind was (partly?) accidental. I don't remember whether it was the flag tearing from the pole altogether or just the way it was blown in the wind at Aragorn's feet that was unplanned. - It took 8 months to build Edoras and they only filmed there for a few days. Sadly the entire set was torn down afterwards. - Orlando Bloom (Legolas) did most of his stunts himself. And he did break some ribs after he fell off a horse. - The actor of Gamling accidentally whacked Bernard Hill (King Théoden) in the head with his sword, causing Hill to get stitches. "Complete accident of course.. that's what he says. I think he's after my job." XD

emmainkeri

The way you jumped back at Treebeard's revelation was just great xD Also: Treebeard:"We can't find the Entwives" Veggi: "They run of with the milkmen?" I just can't 😅😂

Diego Zenhäusern

Wow the thing about Billy and Domicic is great, love that for them :)!

Diego Zenhäusern

It is actually called a Fell Beast (the weird wyvern like ceature)

The 17 year gap I don’t think happens in the movies. In the books during Bilbos party Merry, Pippen and Sam were all children at time. Frodo in the books is significantly older as at that party it is also Frodos birthday and he turns 33 (Hobbit equivelant to turning 18 to us like when we view you becoming an “adult”) so he is 50 during the books. I think in the movies they aged up the other 3 hobbits so we could meet them early in the movie. Oh and Series 1 of taskmaster! That task was incredible, I’m Canadian but I love that show! I’d love to see you react to newer episodes of that too!

Chris Illsley

Another amazing reaction, thank you Veggie! Can't wait for ROTK "I have to believe he can come back" As Galadriel says, Frodo suspects that he can't resist the ring's corruption forever and this line goes over Sam's head completely. Faramir's flashbacks are exclusive to the extended edition, which is blasphemous!!! Can't believe most fans never got to see them, along with the scene with Merry and Pippin in Saruman's weed pantry lol

I feel ya Maia. As much as i wanna see more Arcane, I really really wanna see the finale of this as soon as possible. The other thing I'd like to say Mr Veggie Gamer, there are 2 lego Harry Potter games, and once you finish this perhaps you could try the lego lord of the rings games as well. you don't have to stream, or post them. a quick review would but fun. The accuracy of those lego saga's and the locations and scenery, AMAZING. Thanks for the video doood :)

Just some trivia - The armor for Gimli weighed about 80kg if I recall correctly. - Billy Boyd (Pippin) and Domicic Monaghan (Merry) have been friends ever since working together and have a podcast now together. - Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn) adopted the horse Brego after shooting the films - All three movies were shot back to back, no break in between. - Christopher Lee was the only person on set who had actually met JRR Tolkien in his early life.

Marc Post

Brilliant reaction, VG. A bit of trivia: John Rhys-Davies (Gimli) voiced Treebeard as well. He's also one of the tallest cast members in real life. One word of warning for "Return/King; have extra eye wipes handy. Based on your previous responses, like me, you'll be getting moist.

Eowyn is my favourite female character in the Lord of the Rings, and Faramir is my favourite male character. I’ll elaborate on them further once you’ve seen the final film. But I will say that it bothers me how many people feel like they have to dislike Eowyn (or constantly insult her) because they wanted Arwen to end up with Aragorn, and not her. I never, ever for a moment wanted Eowyn to end up with Aragorn, but I felt so much empathy for what she was going through. Who among us hasn’t fallen in love with someone we weren’t destined to be with? I feel so much love for Eowyn, she’s so strong and brave and kind, and carries the weight of the world on her shoulders. She also has a stubborn naivete about herself and the world that is subtle but so relatable. Also, Sam’s speech has to be one of the greatest moments in cinematic history… It's so incredibly moving. But one little detail that I love (even though it hurts) is how at the very end, when Frodo asks, “What are we holding on to, Sam?” Smeagol looks up hopefully. Despite his opinion of Sam, he still desperately wants to hear an answer that he can believe in. Then when Sam says, “There’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it’s worth fighting for,” you can see Smeagol’s face fall. It’s as though you can see him thinking, “Not for me. Not anymore.” It’s just so sad. In that very moment, it seems to me as though Gollum has finally won. Loved the reaction Veggie, thank you so much. <3

Rebecca May

Why oh why did I watch this now instead of waiting for the third one to be posted?? Now I'm dyingggggg.

Maia

Amazing! Also just getting into it now but no one got that it was 17 year gap 😂. These movies are separate from the books too so I’m not sure it directly applies here anyways. Love the reaction ❤️

Wykhm

Thanks Annie!! Seems like a perfect place to split it! :)

VEGGIE GAMER

Hi Veggie! If you want to know where the movie splits in the DVDs for the Youtube edit, it's after Faramir meets Frodo and Sam. ("War will make corpses of us all. Bind their hands.")

Annie

YESSSS

Triene (Katie)

Ouch! No wonder he screamed after! XD

VEGGIE GAMER

I think I have the honour of telling you that when Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn) kicked the helmet, he broke his toe! That cry of pain was partly real.

Unholy Tater

Great! Was looking forward to this.

LunaTheTrip

Brilliant!

Unholy Tater

Excellent! Been really looking forward to this...catch you on the flip-side...
