The info dump in that episode is important world and plot building. Here's a review: -Like Garp mentioned, the top 4 pirates in the entire world live in the New World and are called The Four Emperors (Yonko). Shanks and Edward Newgate (Whitebeard) are both Emperors. To this day I fear these monsters. The Navy's fleet was destroyed just trying to stop them from talking. -Whitebeard casually dropped that Shanks was one of Gold Roger's apprentices. This is brand new info at this point and it usually shocks reactors but I totally understand it being overshadowed by Shanks' strength. To think Buggy was also originally on Roger's crew is crazy. Oda left Shanks a mystery for 300 episodes. -People passing out: they mentioned the term "haki" and that Shanks was waving it around to intimidate them. Keep the word in mind. The word was used on Jaya by Blackbeard but it was translated to "ambition" (depending on the translation, Blackbeard either thought Luffy's bounty was too high or too low compared to his ambition). -Blackbeard gave Shanks his eye scars while his guard was up. Shanks had the scars before Luffy ate the Devil Fruit 10 years ago. Ace is still chasing Blackbeard but Shanks warns Whitebeard that this is a mistake.
