Thief Codex [Monster Thursday]

Your players will eventually do something to attract the notice of the thieves' guild, like have more than 2 gp between all of them, and while most people know not to deal with adventurers, thieves don't always heed that advice. To that end, here are a few thieves to throw at your party and teach them a lesson about keeping all that wealth for themselves.

Bruiser (CR 7) This brute believes that beating someone to a pulp is a better option than talking things out.

Burglar (CR 3) Lurking in the shadows, the burglar waits until the perfect time to strike - or they simply disarm their enemies and then run away as fast as they can, hoping to avoid any bloodshed.

Enforcer (CR 8) Brutal and cruel, enforcers are often powerful combatants who spread fear of their organization to all.

Gloomblade (CR 10) The perfect killer suffused with necrotic energy, this lurker has gained powerful knowledge of death and magic.

Mugger (CR 1) Running is important for any thief that doesn't want to get hit or thrown in jail, and the mugger is the perfect example of a skirmisher - running in and out of combat, trying to gather as much loot for themselves as possible.

Ruffian (CR 5) Quick to punching, the ruffian doesn't take kindly to anyone trying to get between them and their allies. Whereas most people fear a dragged out fight, the ruffian has no fear and, in fact, seems to grow stronger as the fight continues.
