Path of Souls Bestiary [Monster Thursday]

Deep within the plane of shadow, before the gods warred with the primordials, souls were sent to a great vault known as Death's Reach or the Path of Souls. This demiplane within the shadow plane was meant to be as a vault or repository for all the souls of mortals as, at that time, no one truly knew the power of a mortal's soul. The primordials took over the vault and began experimenting with the souls and, in the war between gods and primordials, they brought forth their powerful weapons fueled by souls against the gods. It wasn't long before the gods took over the Path of Souls and realized the power of souls...

This thursday, we are looking at some powerful creatures you might stumble across in the plane of shadow and in the planes themselves. I'm especially excited by my gargalim... might have to make a few more erelim in a future post! (Angels are weird when ancient peoples describe them.)

Death Giant (CR 11 / 13) Powerful giants who once controlled all of the plane of shadow before gods came and usurped them. They still hold grudges against the gods, hoping that the primordials might rise up again and allow them to retake their gloomy thrones.

Galgalim (CR 15) Based off one of the angels described in Ezekiel in the Bible, this angel appears as five golden rings overloaded with eyes. These rings are interlocked and spin and rotate within in the being with a blazing fire in the center. They are the protectors of the deity who forms them, only focused on crushing all evil before them.

Amriuth (CR 19) A primordial whose element is that of negative energy. She was drawn to souls as they are the antithesis of what she is and she hopes to one day understand what they are so she can make a soul made of negative energy. 

Soulmental (CR 6 / 8) While the primordial controlled the Path of Souls, they were fascinated by what they might do with the power of souls. They combined the souls with their elements, creating a new elemental known as soulmentals. These creatures are strange and otherworldly with a blue corona that bathes them in light.
