Monday Magic Items - Powders
Added 2021-03-22 16:50:43 +0000 UTCOnce again, I reached way back and found a long-forgotten magic item category, Powders. Sure, in 5e we have dust, but the Powder category was extensive back then, and you could find them in sourcebooks and Dragon magazine.
Allspice Powder - At least one of them needed to smell nice.
Bull Powder - Did you know the only bull listed as a monster in the winged bull in Mythic Odysseys Of Theros?
Eucalyptus - It even works on sunburns.
Vizzini's Secret Powder - Who got the reference? No cheating by looking it up online!
Obeah Dust - The word Obeah comes from the Caribbean islands and is a kind of sorcery practiced there. Scholars have debated whether its magic is good or evil, but I of course went with evil.
Powder of Nyx - Nyx is the Greek goddess of the night. It's also a really annoying hero in DotA 2.
Red Dragon Ash - It's always fun when you can make the Dragonborn, who's been showing off with his breath weapon, extremely envious.

2021-03-22 17:33:07 +0000 UTC"Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line" :) These are pretty cool (I am particularly fond of the Powder of Nyx) - I am always on the lookout for stuff to make an Artificer Alchemist I play a little more like an alchemist and less like a half-caster cleric/magic-user.
