Magic Item Monday - Wands
Added 2020-08-03 22:03:59 +0000 UTCWands have always seemed a little silly to me, especially when battling a fearsome creature in D&D. My image of a wand is rooted in the old movies and cartoons of the late 20th century, where a little gold stick with a star on the top is wielded by a small fey like creature or Glenda the Good Witch.
And then came Harry Potter.
Now, wands are no longer for pixies and fairy godmothers, but weapons of mass destruction for angry teenagers.
This week we have four new wands for you:
1. The Broken Wand of Polymorph - What better way for the DM to have a little fun at the player's expense that to have one of them polymorph themselves into a cranium rat by mistake.
2. Wand of Giggles - The nitrous oxide of wands.
3. Wand of the Raven Queen - We had just done a Deep Dive on the Raven Queen and the topic was fresh in my mind, so pulling from the lore, a wand was created!
4. Wand of the Beholder - I really wish I could draw, because the mental image I have of this wand and the creepy eye slits that open when you use it, is both disturbing and fantastic.
