I Need Your Help

Alright, so I’ve been brainstorming and brainstorming on the next look for my movie character. David has given me full creative freedom with this look…but I’m stumped.

Sooo…what kind of wardrobe should I wear? It’ll be filmed in a warehouse strictly on POV cameras. Considering I will be basically a, creature, of…whatever sorts…I anticipate that the wardrobe will be primarily dulled.

Here are my thoughts:

1. Tattered hospital clothing.

2. Ducktaped pieces of cloth that cover lady bits, but are clearly scavenged.

3. Tattered shirt and tattered underwear; SFX and makeup covering legs.

4. Go nude? (Last option)

I want this stand out different from the competition. I’m open to any suggestions YALL have!

I like your idea(1) but this is used by other companies. I have three ideas if you want to differentiate yourself from other companies. ○School uniform ○Classical children's dress ○Japanese kimono All of them are morbid. Good Luck (I’ve sent some pictures to you on Instagram)

Nariyuki Shimamoto

Perhaps 1 or 3. Maybe the clothing scavenged from victims either current or past.

I get the Silent Hill nurse vibes on the zombie though, just my thought. Yet they were quite creepy to say the least.

Philip Kimpton

Haha thank you, shot in the dark but I fully, without a doubt, believe she can pull something like that off.

It's hard to find something that hasn't been done in 100+ years of cinema. My instinct says to steer away from tattered clothing unless you find the purpose for this creature to have it. I’m guessing from some basis that this “creature” is at least humanoid to some degree. If we’re saying it’s a feral person who may have grown up with a normal life, but that normal life was decades gone and this is what she has become … then yeah, maybe she’d piece together clothing from found objects. What might be other reasons for this clothing? Is the motivation from this attacking creature to feed or is she protective of her “home.” If it’s to feed, then I could see her trying to wear the clothing to try and blend in with her prey to get closer before attack. With full creative freedom on the creature look, a lot of these questions might not have literal answers in the script or backstory you’ve been given, but going through who this creature is and your own backstory that’s never revealed or explained on screen can help in the creative process. There might be something you’ve already done that you might be able to explore further in a new role. Maybe a look that didn’t get fully fledged out or something you thought you could do more with and ended up moving on. … to create something that stands out and is different, what things are different and uniquely Cory that you can bring to the table? How can you incorporate your hair into the look? Is it hanging loose and free in front of you covering your body? Would the creature have used surgical masks to tie it down and out of the way in a pseudo braid down your back (the mention of hospital clothing made me to go surgical masks, but it could be anything. Basic yarn, whatever). Is this warehouse/location going to be a dark place? Would the creature have adapted to low light conditions and have some super reflective, blank eyes I’ve seen in deep water animals or cave dwelling things. If it is shot in POV and maybe have some infrared shots, the right reactive contact lenses could look pretty fucking sick. I don’t know, just spitballing and thinking out loud.

Damn...I like her idea!

Hear me out: combine all 4. Have such tattered hospital clothing that maybe it's literally falling apart so when you writhe around or go berserk you can rip it by the shreds as it exposes parts of your creature. You can use some of the ripped, dirty shreds to covered your bits as the outfit falls apart between takes, in which dorty looking duct taps seems to be holding the tattered clothes around your bits . As everything falls off everything under the tattered clothes it reveals your "nude" exposure, however your nude body can be covered in blood and disgusting SFX, and the blood may or may not (if you're covered in alot) may make the dirty half attached duck tape fall off your bits, which could expose more SFX underneath, or your actually nude body.

I like the idea of #1.

Spencer Williams

I’d go with the tattered clothing. Like it’s just been worn for years and is rotting off the character.

#3 sounds best to me. Somehow the 'rawest' if that makes any sense haha

Edie Roylance

I like #3. It’s a good visual and I know your SFX will be top notch

SmokyMtnBerserker

I'm gonna say between 1 and 3....I like the idea of a "zombie" nurse (probably not the right description lol). At the same same a tattered shirt and underwear and something creepy..doesn't get better than that

Eric Hernandez

I like the first idea
