hrab!! your work is great, thank you for the kind comments! honestly I've been using a super cheap $10 capture card I got in like 2017 when I first started messing with analog stuff. it was the cheapest one on amazon. equipment-wise I don't really have any big secrets, analog equipment is super expensive so i grab stuff second hand when it pops up but otherwise i've been working with the same stuff for years (that also helps with the look lol). in terms of importing-exporting I don't really do anything special either, just basic capturing through software. I find most of the time it's in the design of whatever is being processed before you process it, picking which colors bleed more, knowing what part will get blurred/crispy, that kind of stuff. and not being afraid to open up the box and mess with stuff to see what happens visually and try to consistently recreate it. i spent months just doing different things to the tapes to see how it looked. but looking for consistency in analog stuff is impossible, most of the time stuff just happens once and there's no way of recreating it authentically, but trying to recreate that stuff is part of the fun. hope this helps!!

Hey Scorpy, I wasn't sure where to put this but I figure I might as well put it on the newest post. I am an artist working in animation, design, editing, and for about half a year I have started to work with analog video as a medium, which has caused me to run into more than a few roadblocks along the way. Seeing the way you work with video has been really inspiring over the months of being a fan of your content in general, and it’s made me really interested to know more about your process. For example Ive been curious about how you digitize your footage, the more I work with it the more my hand-me-down Elgato Video Converter has become unsatisfying and I feel like there are much better pieces of equipment out there for capturing analog footage in a higher quality. I do understand any hesitation to explain too much, trade secrets and all that, but if there was anything you’d be willing to share, such as equipment you use, techniques for important/exporting and live editing analog video footage, Id love to know. Regardless, thank you for doing everything you do and I’m excited to see what you do next, happy to be a patron!
