Added 2022-02-28 20:58:08 +0000 UTCSo, I think in ways these are way more gruesome than the final edits. Jim and I knew that this had to look gross. At first; I did try putting some of the stomach…well…inside somewhere 🤢 but it didn’t work. Plus, it’s harder than you think.
The tampon I had to slather in masticated oatmeal because it just didn’t look right in terms of it passing as a little tail. I owe Jim that. The smell of the sheep’s stomach was by all accounts horrible, but it was hard considering I had to keep my cooch from showing, but also hold this cold piece of stomach next to my vulva. Arguably, this was probably one of the most hardcore photo shoots I’ve done. What I found most interesting was the fact that the period blood looked so beautiful dried and dropping down the leg. The subtleties of the detail are what made this piece so provocative, yet so terrifying in the same breath.
