MGG Writing Resources and Updates
Added 2024-09-12 23:15:45 +0000 UTCGreetings, everyone! I'm happy to announce all of the edited chapters for MGG have been released on Royal Road and Spacebattles! Now, as for the progress on the new chapter: it's not done yet. I'm literally working on it every day, pushing through frustration after frustration to get it done, but it just keeps getting longer. I'm going to keep pushing myself to get it done as soon as possible, but know that every day it isn't out, I'm adding another chunk to it.
I really wanted to have it done so I could release it on my birthday today, but that's not happening. So instead, I'm going to be releasing two of the spreadsheets I use as reference to write MGG. As this story is a litRPG, there's quite a few numbers involved, especially behind-the-scenes, and I wanted to give my fellow writers and curious readers a look at what that sort of thing looks like. I have two spreadsheets and one document that have been edited and redacted to prevent any spoilers, so look to your heart's content!
One last note before I link them: these are for REFERENCE, especially the latter numbers. If I'm writing and find that the point values aren't working and the economy needs to be rebalanced for later on, it will be. Please don't use these to nitpick, though I'm open to discussion or observations, especially if something looks very off and needs to be addressed before I stumble into it. Without further ado, I present two spreadsheets:
Point Madness
In this spreadsheet, you'll find everything related to points and the cost of things. I have brief explanations on some of the sections, but I'm always down to clarify things on the discord.
Stat Point Calculations (Tiny Chapter 36 spoilers about spells)
This spreadsheet is used for figuring out the APPROXIMATE amount of stats, mana, and mana regeneration a MG would have at their level (it doesn't take into account classes). Basically, MGs follow a build idea that you put a certain amount of points into each stat per level. A .5 indicates you put points in at every other level. 1.5 points into a stat is considered "Average" as that would allow you to level up all stats evenly with 1 point left over. Finally, I also included tables on the far right for the mana cost of various spells. This information has not been provided in story yet, but is coming next chapter.
That's it from me. Hopefully I'll be seeing you all real soon with the newest chapter of MGG!

It's like fractal math, very small changes produce major differences. Otherwise I am glad you are OK and feeling good and I would love to here more about Mai's story. Just toss some out, your half assed is better than many peoples fully thought and calculated, it tugs at the heart and makes you think and feel. I wish I had a good way to throw happiness and good will your way... anyway Happy Birthday!! Congratulations! That trip around the Sun is sometimes really long!

2024-09-16 01:25:39 +0000 UTCBelated happy birthday! I love coming back to this story and reading it again, and getting to re-read the updates has been fun! Don't stress too much over new chaps, take the time you need, and even if it's not exactly right, you can always come back and fox stuff. It doesn't need to be perfect!
