Next Update: September 1 (Big Update)

Just a quick status update to let you all know the next update on both Royal Road and Patreon will be on September 1 and it is going to be a big one. Many words, much rejoicing.

Why the long delay: Well, I had the opportunity to take a one week vacation followed by a one week housesitting for the family pets at the end of last month. The vacation went... okay. I'd been hoping to just laser focus on writing, but a few things conspired to prevent me from getting actual writing done. Thankfully, it was still fairly relaxing, and I was able to storyboard and work on some background stuff. It was quite good for my mental health.

The next week of housesitting did not go very well. Dog was not happy, I wasn't happy, let's just leave it at that.

Immediately following all that, when my family got home, my mom came down with covid. She's doing alright, thankfully, which is a huge blessing. Unfortunately, her getting sick has sort of led to me getting off and on sick, but nowhere near as bad as her. Still, sporadic fevers and constant exhaustion haven't been conducive to writing the past few weeks. Nonetheless, I've been trying to force myself to get something done, and I'm fairly happy with how it turned out so far. Now, I'm going to try one last push to add even more to the word count before next update drops.

In other news, the official Discord server will also be going live on September 1. I'll try to be on most of the day answering questions/comments on latest chapter or general lore and just generally hanging out. I will either have a post with the discord link or send a private message through Patreon. Haven't quite decided yet.

Just a word of warning, the server is going to aim to be a comfy, positive place, meaning the rules might be a bit stricter than some might be accustomed to on other servers.

As for other writing news, I'm still struggling a bit with MGG. I think I'm starting to get back into the groove, but it's tenuous at best. My one side project has evolved slightly, spawning a few additional ideas that I'm dabbling with when I absolutely don't want to work on either MGG or Project: Remedy (new current working name). Honestly, having additional projects to work on has helped immensely. Even though MGG is still struggling to get word count in, I've been able to get at least some progress done, which should pay off in the future.
