[Beta] Dangerous Demolition (Game Gear / Master System)

Hi everyone!

You might remember my game Dangerous Demolition, that I created a few months ago for the SMS Power competition. Sadly, this Game Gear game didn't fared well in the programming competition. It ended up ranking 8th out of 9 entries. But this was a fair result, as the other entries were clearly better and more polished than mine (my title screen was a simple text output!).

Playing the other competition entries, and using the feedback you patrons provided me on the earlier beta, I continued to work on this project to make a better game. Now is the time to show you the results!

Compared to the previous version, this new beta features:

As usual, in this post, you'll find a beta version of the game for each console. As you'll be the first people to play it, your feedback is very welcome! :)

Important side note: Please don't share these files publicly! Indeed, the game should be available on cartridge around the end of 2020. It'll be published by homebrew specialists Cote Gamers, in a full-fledged physical release with box and manual. In the meantime, my publisher kindly asked that the ROM version of the game isn't publicly available before the actual physical release. So feel free to enjoy it with your friends and family, but please don't share it publicly :).

Anyway, I thank you again a lot for your continued support, and I hope you'll enjoy this new game!

Thanks a lot for the clarification! The title song is indeed a loop I cut myself from a longer song by Jaden H. I'll try to recut it so it loops better, thanks for your helpful feedback! :)

Ah - I should have been more clear. It is not in the game itself. It is on the title screen music (ie, "DANGEROUS DEMOLITION" at top of screen). Seems the loop is 2 measures long (the 2nd measure has a trill at the end). On that loop on the title screen, it seems it could use a fraction more silence before looping (or added to the end of the sample).

Thanks a lot for your very helpful feedback Brian! Regarding the music, is the issue with the "intro" loop (before you hit any ball) or with the full track (after at least one ball is red)?

I like the new effects - especially the shaking! I think I prefer the square/GG format. Feedback - the looping point on the music seems a fraction off. Like it needs a 1/4s or so of white space at the end before looping again.
