Adventurer's Quest (House Conflicts)

((Y/N)'s POV)

It was breakfast time and Chelsie was in the kitchen with Dalia talking and making food for everyone to eat but this place is going to need a bigger table or a whole other table. That's something that needs to be done soon but with money for food for everyone, this house, and other living things I saw on the contract for this place, we should be fine for a while to rest but I think we need to split into groups to bring more money in to buy better equipment for jobs and other things to enjoy. I snapped out of my thoughts when Mother pulled me closer on her lap since the chairs were all taken.

Mother-Is there anything you need, Honey? I will go get it for you.

(Y/N)-It's nothing Mother. Just thought about a bigger table or maybe a second one.

Luna-How about a second table for just 2 people?

Chelsie-What, like a kids table?

Chelsie came in smiling and holding the food she made in two big trays but I knew what she said could annoy Lune... Luna didn't look bothered by it at all.

Luna-Then it looks like you wouldn't be welcome. Cows would just break it. ~

They both glared at each other a little before just making their plates angrily. The rest of breakfast was just everyone to to each other or asking for a turn to sit with me. Hamah didn't need a chair so Amara took it to go eat alone. After breakfast, I tried to go outside to think a little during target practice but then Mother and Vita came outside after I shot my first ice arrow.

Mother-(Y/N), why are you out here so soon and all alone?

(Y/N)-I just wanted to get some practice in before getting a job for the day. Zahara gets bored and... It's not good if she's bored.

Vita-As in getting a job... Do you mean going out yourself, young Master?

(Y/N)-Well, not alone. I have a team and we work together.

Vita-With all do respect one of your party members is a mind-flayer and the other a dragon.

Mother-That does seem dangerous... Maybe you can stay home and spend time with us?

(Y/N)-I should be fine. I have the gifts you gave me like the reflective amulet and-.

Mother just picked me up and I think this is going to be another problem if I can't adventure anymore. Amara did tell me that everyone in the party only listens to me and I need to feel into my role as leader. That being said, I don't know how Mother is actually feeling but I can't just ignore it. She, Vita, and Celia are here to stay now.

(Y/N)-Mother... I know everything changed for you but maybe this could be a chance to try new things. Maybe not adventuring but... um... What things do you like to do for fun to keep you busy?

Mother-Do you not trust me to come with you on a quest?!

I wanted to say no to not hurt her feelings but I was only ok because I had help and if the two of us went to go kill a monster or dangerous animal, she wouldn't know how to fight. Telling her yes would just hurt her feelings so it was bad either way.

Amara-Excuse me.

We all turned to see Amara coming with her bow.

Amara-I believe my student was in the middle of his training.

Vita-Your student? I helped teach him before you came along.

Amara-And what a great job you have done for your students. Giving a sword to a natural-born archer at the king's command, and the other thinking he is but a king of men when he is a king of fools. It astounds me that humans give the title of teacher to just about anyone.

Vita-... Excuse me?!

(Y/N)-O-Ok, how about we-?

Vita-My lady is allowed to be with her son and I have a new method for him with his dagger that I am sure he will pick up on!

Amara-What a fascinating tale. Let me continue my lessons with him in peace... Shall we make this a training day, (Y/N)?

(Y/N)-We... need to do a job to bring in more money, get more food, and... other... things.

I am trying to get out of here without having them start a fight.

(Timeskip 1 Hour)

The three of them got everyone to leave the house to do a job or errands for the house or stay inside to clean or something. The only one out here with us was...

Dalia-Hi, Sweetie. ~

(Y/N)'s mind-Please, don't do anything to provoke them... Hello?... I know you can read my mind!

She only winked at me before chuckling then took a seat by the house with my mother so I just brought Mother over here to be closer to the lessons and Dalia doesn't mess with her.

(Vita's POV)

This elf thinks she can just spend a couple of days with my lady's son and call herself better than me. I had (Y/N) take out a knife and practice on a wooden log. Basic swings for underhand and above are a great way to introduce him to the dagger. He already knows how to position his feet from his sword training... given I regret not stopping entirely before.

Vita-Don't forget to lean into the swing. I want to hear that knife cut the air.

He was doing a great job for a start. His body was in sync but there is times when the knife doesn't make any noise at all which shows a lack of power. That's when Amara came over.

Amara-The power would never be enough for his size. Basic swings are not going to work. Try gaining momentum and speed for more force.

Vita-Excuse you. That would be dangerous if he were to trip and fall and keeping fluid movements is quite difficult. Why don't you leave his close combat training to me?

Amara-His lightweight ability will be enough. It just matters of his speed, leg strength, and timing. Allow me.

Vita-I don't think I will.

(Y/N)-C-Can I just say something?

Dalia-Is it that there might be room for only one teacher for you, young leader?!

(Y/N) looked scared and I knew this was an attempt just to spite us and Amara even turned away.

Amara-I don't have anything to prove. I let the results speak for themselves.

Vita-Of course.

Amara-Besides, an archer for a teacher is far better suited.

This annoyed me and we looked at each other. (Y/N) looked nervous but I don't need to do this. I was captain of the guard, defeated any guards while escorting my friend and Lady out safely, and will be able to bring all the money in for the house if I wanted to.

(Y/N)-Um... Does it really matter who is a better teacher? Because-.

(Timeskip 30 Minutes)

(Aurora's POV)

I had my son on my lap while sitting next to Dalia and I forgot how good it felt to have my child just resting on me. Dalia may be a monster but she was giving me advice too from inside my head so she doesn't get any credit for the help she gives me. I think putting him back on breastfeeding is something for if things get really bad but he needed more cuddles right now.

Dalia's mind-He does work really hard for his age. I think he needs a nice message or just extra pampering. 

Aurora's mind-He has been working very hard... I was even so busy back at my old home that I barely got to be with him!

Dalia-Oh my. Well, you have a bed in your room just perfect for cuddles and you might want to consider putting him back on the milk.

(Y/N)-... You said that out loud.

Dalia-I did.

(Y/N)-Mom, she's just trying to trick you into doing things!

He kept on talking and got a little panicky but it made me think that what if this was just an attempt to not get any affection from me. I thought about how Calvin and (B/N) thought of me and tricked me which made a tear threaten to leave me eye... I didn't want (Y/N) to see that so I put his head on my shoulder and took him to my room to baby him in private.

(Zahara's POV)

Playing Adventurers isn't the same without Master. Luna and Hama were with me to turn in the monster part of the monster we played with but I just felt bored again. By the time we made it home I sprinted inside just to see the house looking very clean and Celia sitting on the couch reading a book.

Zahara-Where's Master?!

Celia-Um... My Lady took her son for extra care in her room. They need to be al-.

I ran to the room to be with Master and heard his adorable little whines so I ran into the room. They both jumped and I jumped on top of them to pull him away from the new lady's chest and held him close to me for cuddles.

Zahara-Master! I miss fighting with you in charge! It isn't the same and I want to play Adventurer with you!

Aurora-Hey! Return my son this instant! He was in the middle of eating!

Zahara-My Master!

She tried to take him back but I held on and whatever she could do for him, I can do it too! Cuddling him is easy so I will just hold him here! In the middle of our tug of war with Master, he went from us barely hearing him to...

(Y/N)-STOOOOP!!!... Please... When the others get home, I think we need another house meeting if all this fighting is going to be over me.

That sounds so boring though! This was her fault for hogging Mater and not letting us play like we used to! She gave me a look while tucking her chest away again when Master left but I don't like her either so I stuck my tongue out at her.

Zahara-Pffft.

That's when Luna walked in with Hamah.

Luna-What did the both of you do to make him so worked up?... Keep it up because now... Oh (Y/N), how about we talk over some food and drinks in my room. ~

She walked away and now Luna was going to be with Master alone while I was in trouble!

(No POV)

Meanwhile off in the distance, a group of men were stalking the streets to find anyone from their target list and were ordered to assassinate the whole team. Once they spotted two of the targets they stalked them from the shadows until they lead them to the house to attack at night.

Assassin's mind-The SS-rank Pritess and a princess from another land who is gifted with magic... They are the perfect hostages once their magic is restrained. The priestess can even help us have some 'fun' before the payment. ~
