Times Have Changed (Manipulations)

(Clarion's POV)

It's been 3 days since the night my son had to be rushed to the hospital and I can't put my baby back on lockdown like I did last time or I risk upsetting him and all of my fairies turning on each other by picky sides to be on who they can trust. Meanwhile, the criminal or criminals who poisoned my baby were still out there. He was out having fun with the water fairies and I made it clear that SilverMist was the one in charge... I feel like my circle of trust has shrunken down immensely and I had no answer on how to counter this. Just then, Nyx flew through the window with a report.

Nyx-Your highness.

Clarion-Is there any new leads?

Nyx-... No, but we are not giving up. All leads that we had since that night are still being looked into. The kind of flower we identified was one of the forbidden ones from the prison which any kind of fairy had access to during the improvements.

Clarion-So all our prisoners are locked up tight but the one who poisoned my baby is still out there?

Nyx-It won't be like that for long. We have Tinkerbell and her friends with Fairy Mary are looking into every fairy for alibies. Someone is going to slip up soon and they will be taken to the appropriate prison to-.

Clarion-No... That fairly will be brought to me... Understood?

Nyx-... Yes.

(SilverMist's POV)

(Y/N) is just so clingy and cuddly today. All he wants is to be held and play in the water on our laps, and we are even helping him learn how to swim since he's our size... He only ended up floating on his back after we convinced him the water would just carry him. After some swimming, he wanted to snuggle with me by a waterfall on my lap while other fairies dote on him. He got fussy a few times from too much mist but we just moved to a different spot each time until I decided to take him to the stream and float around on a leaf with him while the fairies made this a fun ride for us.

(Y/N)-SilverMist, my tummy still feels a little upset.

It's all in his head just like the doctor said since the poison has to have passed through by now and we check his food and water but when this does happen...

SilverMist-Awwwww. Do you want to sleep it off after giving everyone a kiss goodnight? ~

He nodded his head and I just did what he wanted before taking him to my home to put him in the nursery I had made for him. The running water stream helps him sleep too. I put a paci in his mouth and he nuzzled into me while others watched from my windows. I did get a look from the home next door that a new fairy moved into to be closer since the last one refused to get a nursery for our baby to sleep in in case he wanted to sleep over there.

SilverMist's mind-It's mostly the boys that get in trouble for this stuff but not the girls. It's rarely ever a girl that does something like that.

For a while, I was starting to think he didn't want to go to sleep but just cuddle with me in a cozy bed alone. I suspected this when he was playing with his toy I had Tink build into this bed and push the little plastic ducks in the tiny stream. I was just petting his head then there was a knock on my door.

SilverMist-It's open!

Iridessa-It's locked.

SilverMist-Window's open!

Iridessa-There are bars blocking it. Can you just open the door?

(Y/N) just looked so comfy and didn't want me to leave him in his bed alone. I just had to bring him with me to the door and I saw Iridessa. I think she was checking on (Y/N) a little bit more than Fairy Mary now... I think this is the 13th check-up since the party.

(Y/N)-Iridessa!

Iridessa-Hi Swee-.~ Oh!

He grabbed onto her and to be held by her so I just brought her inside and to find a spot on his bed. She was lucky I was compromising to share the cuddles since it was supposed to be the water fairies's turn all day.

SilverMist-Is this another check-up?

Iridessa-You can't be too careful.

(Iridessa's POV)

Fairy Mary gets to constantly check on him, the scouts are even watching us from a distance, the queen checks on him, so I don't see why I can't be sure and check on him too. Besides, he always likes a visit from me and my friends... or anyone. We just watched him play and crawl around on the bed to do other things but I couldn't help but grab and hug him since he was small enough to be in our laps now! SilverMist would move the water around for him to play with. When he lied down, we got both of his sides and I rubbed his tummy.

(Y/N)-Cough cough*.

Iridessa-Gasp Are you okay?! Let me feel for a temperature!

(Y/N)-I'm thirsty.

After already feeling his head, Silvermist looked like she was spooked a little.

Iridessa-... Oh.

SilverMist-Here, Honey... Iridessa.

Iridessa-Yes?

SilverMist-Maybe do not bring up being sick around him a lot? Try playing with him instead.

I quickly gathered light from the sun shining into the room and made it a ball for him to try and catch and it would move in the water sometimes for him to splash around. I just couldn't help but think about the party and how angry the queen was. It was distracting me from work too so I almost set a field on fire... twice. After a while of playing, (Y/N) did get tired so I left to let him take a nap with SilverMist alone... He did give me a goodbye kiss. On my way home to relax I thought about when I spooked SilverMist and what she said.

Iridessa's mind-Is it wrong for me to want our baby to be safe? How can he be safe if the poisoner is still out there?

Just then, I saw something shining in the sunlight in a flower field, so I checked it out... There was ice and snow dug into the ground. It was still cold somehow but the ice was melting a little. I took a quick peek inside and then saw dry ice from the human world.

Iridessa-What the heck? whisper

(Peri's POV)

The Minister of Winter is ruling things with an iron fist when it comes to looking for leads to who poisoned our baby. We even turned to the smartest fairy we know.

Dewey-Good evening, Peri. You been getting enough rest?

Peri-Up late last night. My friends were too.

Dewey-Well, don't work too hard. You need rest like the rest of us.

Peri-When we find the fairy who did this, I'll be able to sleep like a baby.

Dewey-Honestly, this little guy must be very special to you.

Peri-He's perfect. He saved us, he is the sweetest thing, even when he was a giant to us, he was still a baby who knew how to be gentle but still fell prey to our love... So adorable. ~

I got lost in thought for when I will hold and cradle him in my arms. I made my nursery for him focused on soft cotton and fluffy things to make it a suit that is perfect for cuddles with him. It's very popular around here. I told Dewey about it and...

Dewey-Mine?

Peri-Yeah. Every fairy has one and you passed inspection? What did you do in case he needs to stay with you or wants to try it out?

Dewey-Well... Just a crib sufficed.

Peri-Nothing special? Come on, he's keeping you alive and loves everyone here.

Dewey-Wait!

I flew up to his room, which he had here, and saw that it looked isolated from his room and pretty boring. It still looked nice enough to put him in. He got behind me and I think I saw something in the crib.

Dewey-Sorry, but my work has me very busy so I can't really do much.

I reached down to the pillow and blanket before moving them out of the way then saw... flower petals. I quickly put the pieces together but the betrayal had my head spinning.

Peri-Dewey?... Y-You?

Dewey-This is not what it looks like.

Peri-It looks like you are hiding flower petals after it was discovered that flowers were behind the poisoning!... Tell me you didn't!

Dewey-Peri, please hear me out. Th-This is how nature is intended and my research shows no human from the mainland ever lived here before so we didn't know what could happen. You are all getting carried away with rules and the way you handle prisoners... it's... it's...

Peri-... Dewey...

I grabbed him by his shirt with tears coming out of my eyes. He was able to fight back with a good match to my strength but this fight is who wants to win more.

Dewey-Peri, this has to happen! I don't want to hurt you! Please, don't make me do this!

Peri-Hurt me?... Hurt? Me?... You will never 'Hurt me' AGAIN!!!

I body-slammed him on the ground and dragged him on the ground as fast and hard as I could. When I punched him in the throat to stun him, I flipped him over to grab one of his wings. Tears were pouring down my face since one of my friends betrayed me like this which made me even angrier... I ripped his wing off.

Dewey-AAAAAA-!!!

(Clarion's POV)

Dewey-AAAHHHHHHHH!!!

I put a spike right through Dewey's hand to keep him pinned onto the ground while all of Pixie Hollow and the Winter Fairies watched me deal with him. Peri was being comforted by her sister Tinkerbell as they watched (Y/N) elsewhere but I will carry on her wrath as well as everyone else's and mine.

Clarion-Dewey... You are proven to be a trailer and protecting other traitors of poisoning my baby, treason, attempted genocide, and unauthorized use of a forbidden flower.

Dewey-I plead-!

Clarion-Plead?... There is no pleading. You will give up the names of those I know who helped you. A warm fairy helped make that little hideout, didn't they?

His face went even more pale and that was before I snapped my fingers and a few fairies came down to the stage with the burnt flower ashes and a honey cake on a plate... I sprinkled the flower onto the cake in front of him while smiling genuinely and warmly. The fairies grabbed him to hold him still with his mouth open.

Clarion-How would you like to know what it felt like to be my baby that night?... Now,... say ahhhh. ~

(Tinkerbell's POV)

(Y/N)-Ahhhhhh.

My friends were over helping me with my sister and (Y/N). Gliss was feeding him with Iridessa while I had my sister hugging me while sitting on her bed. Her suit for (Y/N) was very adorable so after venting to me about her friend, she talked about how fairies here helped her make it. It got popular since he would be warm and even softer to cuddle.

Gliss-(Y/N), food belongs in your mouth. Not on your chin. ~

Iridessa-Here, you can suck it off my finger. ~

She used her finger to scoop his food on his chin and sucked on her finger. This adorable sight made my sister a little better. (Y/N) wanted to come back to her after eating since she still looked sad.

Tinkerbell's mind-So adorable... ~ I wonder if Fawn is down with what I asked her after what Zarina made for her.

(No POV)

In the woods... small animals were on the ground still kicking their legs while feeling immense pleasure where they were scratched. Right now, a big bear was struggling to stand up but fell to the ground twitching. There was a bit of Pixie Dust on its back and Fawn was still flying in the air with a smile on her face while looking at the bag of dust.

Fawn's mind-I just keep on barely getting into their spots to really work on them... Maybe a smaller pinch of dust still... How strong is this stuff?
