We are back with another episode of The Golden Palace. Today, we are watching the episode titled Camp Town Races Aren't Nearly as Much Fun as They Used to Be. This was a powerful and timely episode. With everything going on in the USA these days, I wouldn't be surprised if people of colour lost their hard-earned rights as women already have. Like I mentioned in the video, there was a greater opportunity for Blanche's character that I wished was taken. But overall, it was a great episode!

This episode went viral in 2020 at the height of the BLM movement. There are a lot of clips of the episode on YouTube and SirusFM did an interview with Don Cheadle about making this episode. It’s sad we’re STILL having the same conversation in 2025 and this was from 1992 over 30 years ago. That was another thing Cheadle spoke about in the interview. TV sitcoms especially were not having that conversation at that time. Golden Girls and Golden Palace was ahead of its time in many ways and ts sad we’re STILL having these conversations today like nobody has learned anything. And US has the same thing in the WH about making things “great” again which seems to be like Blanche’s memories of great but what was great for her people was not great for everyone
