The classic failure of time travel is that you almost inevitably cause the event you try to prevent, and while this episode is technically entirely cliche, it's done so well that you can't help but hope that Dark might violate this principle. Jonas' actor conveys so much boundless sorrow just in his eyes. It kills me to rewatch this episode, especially. You can just read how he's taking in his hometown one last time, expecting to suddenly pop out of existence once he meddles with things.
