The Leftovers FULL REACTION 3x3: Crazy Whitefella Thinking

I like the contrast between the conversations of Kevin Sr. and Christopher Sunday versus Kevin Sr. and Grace Playford. They're both shot at profile angles and direct closeups. In the first, it's almost entirely focused on Kevin Sr. being misdirected by a story from his son that's led him to this point because he chose to interpret it in the wrong way. And in the second, it's almost entirely focused on Grace being misdirected by a story about his son that's led her to this point because she also chose to interpret it in the wrong way.

It was killer!

One of my favourite episodes in TV ever. An absolute tour de force from the most hilarious ramblings of a mad man (Tony, the chicken!) to the gut punching story of Grace about the loss of her children. Love it so so much. Scott Glenn is really amazing.

This episode takes place place during early season 3, Wayne's long dead at this point

As I said before: nope, when they started the show, they didn't plan any of this. It just grew organically season by season. They initially just wanted to adapt the book and that might have been the end of the show. Planning doesn't mean much. Breaking Bad didn't plan much. It just grew organically. LOST was planned a lot and the results were a bit mixed, as you could argue that they stuck too much to their plans. Didn't always feel organic.
