This show is so good. You’re doing a good job of keeping up with it, especially for someone who isn’t used to anime. It’s not the easiest show to follow - it’s purposefully pretty complex. Just a note: the Netflix translation isn’t great. They chose to translate some things weirdly. You hear the characters saying like ‘Third children’ when they talk about Shinji and ‘First Children’ when they talk about Rei. You should really just think of that as ‘Third Child’ and ‘First Child’. Only last thing I’d say is that they pilot Evangelions, not Angels. Angels are the monsters they’re fighting. I really love how we’ve seen Shinji and Misato’s relationship develop. You can feel that he’s never really had that kind of bond before, and that because he has it, he’s able to come out of his shell as a person.
