Lost S5 E8: "LaFleur" FULL LENGTH

Lost S5 E8: "LaFleur" FULL LENGTH

The show is smart and well written, however, many people figured out the conclusion early on so the show went off in different directions. Also, there were plot holes that had to be filled.

Suliet! 😻. Def in my top episodes as well. Love the writing. Amazing that this show is almost 20 years old. All these time travel shows after and LOST still did it best imho 😊

The puzzle analogy is great Mike and absolutely applies to this show! It's important to know that because certain people when watching the show expected to have all the answers delivered in full directly to their face down the barrel of the camera 😂 I think what makes this show so amazing and so repeat watchable is the structure and that they make you invest more deeply, you become part of the gang. Of course they give you answers (all the time actually) but sometimes they are subtle throw away lines or completely out of sequence so like you said... it's a puzzle that just gets clearer and clearer. You have to put it together. I'll give you an example from the last 8 episodes that isn't a spoiler because it's resolved and is a clear example of the writing on this show and how they put things together. * Faraday says in episode 1 that the island is skipping because the island's like a record spinning on a turntable except it has become dislodged... from time. * We then see John Locke in episode 5 under the Orchid with the wheel flashing and moving backwards and forwards, it's clearly stuck, dislodged. The wheel was dislodged from Ben turning the wheel at the end of season 4. * John turns the wheel himself and that clicks it back into place, it corrects. The correction of the wheel causes one big final flash and Juliet says that whatever John did, I think it worked. He did it, it's over. My headache is gone and my nose isn't bleeding anymore. * Jin says, "no more flash" and Daniel confirms... it's over. Wherever we are now (wherever we flashed to) we're here, we're here for good. John's turning of the wheel corrected it so it's no longer looping backwards and forwards and throwing us through time. That is one very small example of the kind of structure the writers deal in and some of these answers they spread over the course of 5 or 6 seasons!!! 🤣🤪

I know The Constant is a lot of people's favorite episode but after watching this show numerous times I have to say this one is definitely my favorite. It's just perfect. I love the scene with James and Richard, it shows just how smart James really is. And of course we finally get him and Juliet together. And James' monolgue to Horace! Josh Holloway deserves every award he could possibly win for his performance.

Dude… dude… dude!! Sometimes you theorize aloud so much, you talk over important dialogue. OMG. Shhhh. 😎

I am also missing the 4th puzzle :( Did you know that if you flip the puzzles over and use a blacklight on them, it will reveal the Dharma stations map we saw back in episode "Lockdown"

God, I just love 1977 Sawyer. He stops to smell the flowers, he grins like a big idiot, he says "I love you" with no reservations, he's the little spoon...he's great. Great reaction as always, glad you love this episode as much as I do! As always...Yes and No to your questions/theories.

Every episode this season so far is top tier, imo.

Mike, @ 48:48 Back in episode 3x17 Desmond comments "It was, it was like a sorta jigsaw puzzle. Only I didn't have the picture in the box, so I dunno how the pieces fit exactly" Also, the following comment was left in that episode's comment section. Is this what you were thinking of? "Weird Magic After season 2 - ABC released four puzzles (I have three of them on my wall, but can't find the fourth :( ). They are 1000-piece, 19x26 puzzles that of course - do not have the picture on the box. Exactly how the showrunners were giving us all the pieces to their puzzle but not telling/showing us what the ending is supposed to look like. Desmond's explanations here are kind of a wink and a nod to the puzzles as well as how the show was written from beginning to end."
