Greetings, Dear Patrons!
We are happy to inform you, that revolution is coming! In our game, yes.
Some of you noted that we stopped in development of the main line of the game – Jack's hunting adventures and increasing of her corruption level. One of the reasons of it was that we didn't know how. As you may know WHT is our first and the only one project, starting it we had a lack of experience and didn't consider all the details – how can the protagonist know about Jack's adventures? Secret diary? But reading other people's diaries is not worthy. Daily reports? But why should Jack trust Sam so much. Covert surveillance by steam-punk device? Better, but not everybody will like it. The way was far but finally we came up to it – from the next update you will have possibility to look some scenes from Jack's POV, you will be also able to take decisions for Jack.
This option will be added to the new update in the test mode. And it will be facultative – you may take and watch it if you like, or you may continue to play only for Sam, and Jack's decisions will be take automatically according to her corruption level.
We become just obsessed by this idea, so we delayed the release of the new update. Hope, you'll enjoy it and excuse us about the wait.
So, the ending of the Mermaid's story, missing chapter with the Mermaid's rescue, and the scene from Jack's POV deep in the caverns by the end of this month. Thank you for being with us!

So Jack's decisions will be Jack's decisions (with the ability to choose for the player), but developers won't have to worry about the variability took the player this POV option or not and about auto-scoring of decisions depending on Jack's level of corruption if not. Like there is a Sam's tree with an inner Jack's tree, but without a fork in front of this inner tree.

2021-06-05 05:23:28 +0000 UTCAs I understand it you are suggesting that to streamline the programming that the Jack's POV stories be the results of decisions in Sam's decision tree and we just see the results of those decisions. There are merits to that but they're going to go with this for now. We'll see. As for the 'real boy' thing that was more a joke at the expense of Pinocchio than any attempt at a serious discussion of gender dysphoria. Jack is going through a phase where where he/she is still discovering who they are. It ends when you're dead. We also mustn't overlook the fact that Jack lives in a world where magic exists so she might actually be right.

Well, about becoming the real boy here is the thing: now in the West it's common practice to inspire children about the possibility of changing their gender. You can drink from 21, but take hormones to change your gender from 12. Seems legit. And since Team Borsch lives on the opposite side of the cultural map, I think (hope) they want to show that if you think something is broken, but in fact it isn't and this is just a period of your life or someone's manipulation, then you don't need to fix anything. Follow-up studies of children with gender dysphoria consistently show that the majority of them will not remain gender dysphoric after puberty and will instead identify as gay or lesbian. Other researchers also report that a significant proportion of children diagnosed with gender dysphoria later do not have any dysphoria.

In the western tradition it is completely acceptable to call an old friend of the family "Uncle", particularly if you knew them from a very young age. I had an Aunt who I didn't know wasn't a blood relative until my early teens. We certainly didn't stop calling her "Auntie" when we found out. If you'd told us to stop it would have gone very bad very fast.

But I guess no one can forbid her to call him uncle Sam cause it's an acceptable thing in such cases (though I'm not quite sure how it works in the western tradition). And add a big warning to the startscreen: "all characters are over 18, no one is related". Bang bang, fuck you patreon, try to sue me :)

2021-06-04 17:06:26 +0000 UTCThey had to drop the blood relation thing for a 'daughter of a comrade in arms' thing because of Patreon's rules. I have suggested that they still THINK of their relationship as uncle/nephew [as one often does in this kind if situation] since I think that the dynamic is a useful one and it allows them to retain much of the naughtiness of the taboo. It is also useful to them if others think of Sam and Jack think of them as uncle/nephew. It's a simple relationship that others would understand.

If making it facultative makes it unwieldy then it may have to be dropped later but I think that adding a Jack's POV will be worth going through a lot of growing pains to get. As for the goal of the game - I thought it was to help Jack become a real boy!

But what I meant was that from the beginning the game was more focused on Sam raises Jack's corruption level so he could cherry pick. And now he is turning more into an observer. But as for me it's quite ok, who will wait for sex scenes until the end of the game.

And since this is your first project, you might end up stuck on that variability later. With all due respect, you are not Bioware yet :) It seems to me that since the goal of the game (let's be honest here) is to increase the level of Jack's corruption, so playing for her from time to time by default and not facultative (in order to make decisions that affect the level of her corruption) doesn't contradict the narrative in any way.

2021-06-04 14:49:53 +0000 UTCYes, this is a very simple yet elegant solution. Boris knows how to catch the "worm" using darkness and Jack's holes as bait. But the "worm" will turn out to be very nimble and elusive :) The only controversial point here is that Sam puts in a lot of his efforts, but constantly misses all the fun with Jack and he doesn't seem to be that kind of a guy.

I wouldn't mind if it is with Boris. since we can get Jack's perspective, maybe we can let Boris do what he want's for that worm that Jack loves to find and maybe when Boris is done. he could give Jack one. It could even be a recurring thing where Boris gets to bang Jack since the worm is a consumable for elixirs.
