If I was to guess I would say that they appear to live in caves and other dark places. Places where they can stealthily corner and surround their prey. Once they are ready to strike they might then swarm their victim who might not even be aware of the attack until it was well under way. If it were me I'd say that the slime they use to move dissolves fabric leaving a goo they then slurp up. All speculation of course.

I ask me how these little slugs work. Are they small like real slugs and "attack" in the thousands or are they bigger (like hands) and attack in small groups (15-20). they could be as big as dogs and then 2 or 3 are a threat. If they are as big as a human or bigger than a single slug should be a dangerous foe. How work their ability to eat clothes? Maybe they spit some accid which melts the clothes and the slug slurps the molten mass? Or must they touch the piece of cloth and eat it like a larvae? Then they need a way to get near of their prey. If they are very small they can drop from the ceiling but if they are bigger then this possibility seems not so fun :P. And some slugs who are fast enough to catch a person is hard to imagine for me.Maybe the eyes work like a tentacle and can hold the victim while the slug comes near?And last but not least how multiply these slugs themselves. Maybe eggs in dark and narrow places :P or cell division if they have enough bodymass? Is it evolving to another form, which does the mating like a butterfly? I´m excitet for Jacks first encounter with these interesting foes :)

I would prefer a tuning up with less cloth and more skin. Because clothing is so expensive ;). Maybe she/he could get a second job as model for risky dresses and underwear in exchange for new clothes or free repairs. Arghs too much coffein and too less sleep:P

That's just silly. All that would happen is those things would crawl all over her body, exploring her every curve and crevice, eating her clothing, leaving her naked and covered in slime. I'm in.
