Ratings Robbie: 7.5. He says he likes the idea of the Maquis, that "not all Star Fleet people are perfect." But a lot didn't really work. "I wanted a bigger, better payoff" with the Maquis. Terry: 7.8. She says there were things that bothered her, especially because she found Sisko's lack of trying for open diplomacy to be frustrating. Garret: 7.9. He says he really likes Marc Alaimo's part in the episode So it's enough to boost his rating over Terry's and Robbie's. Fans/Patrons: 7.6. All of them guessed a rating right in the same vicinity as the Patrons. Technically Robbie was closest but by only 0.1 points, which hardly matters. Assuming there was no collusion or foreknowledge of the Patrons' score, it looks like everyoneshas begun getting on the same page with the ratings and what they mean!

Robbie, my mom said the same thing about bananas!! I thought you couldn’t eat the green ones, too!

Mary Burch

I agree. I never was a fan of Admiral Necheyev. I'm sure the actress is a good person but her character sure isn't.

Elisabeth Westner

Looking backward - I also would have appreciated watching these 2 episodes before starting Voyager (I came to the party late and watched most of Voyager before most of DS9). It also would have been good to watch the relevant TNG episode before watching The Maquis. Current day - I wish someone published a list of suggested "watch these episodes first" for the current Star Trek series. If this already exists, I'd love to know about it. Looking forward - I wonder if Gul Dukat's experience with Central Command in this episode explains some things in the future (I've seen all of DS9 before but my memory sucks, so it's fun rewatching and paying a lot more attention)

Marcy Beard

And this is an episode where I had a smidgen of empathy for Dukat. He wasn't always an evil character. He had some slightly endearing qualities.

Vicky Thompson

This was one of my favorite episodes. We are so lucky to have witness Bernie Casey and Avery Brooks acting together.

Vicky Thompson

Sisko holds Picard responsible for his wife’s death, not Starfleet.

ChrisB

Age old adage: “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.”

Robby actually has a point, It's not bad to eat a green banana, but you have more chance of getting a stomach ache and cramps because a green banana doesn't digest very well.

Tom DM

ANDY ROBINSON next week!!! YAY!!!🏆🎊❤️

ChrisB

Garrett: “our man Bashir”

Set Phasers To Malky

Terry, a while back there was a top 5 Star Trek Pilot list and Dax was #1 over Paris due to their past lives experience piloting.

ChrisB

In terms of Kira, yes everything that Terry said plus Kira was on the station when Gul Dukat was running the station. She HATES Dukat, for good reason.

ChrisB

Avery’s acting quirks are AMAZING and make Sisko a GREAT character❤️

ChrisB

I think the episode must have not communicated very well what the Federation/Cardassian treaty actually is - really the only relevant terms of the treaty are that the settlers have to leave their planets since they are now over the Cardassian border, and there isn't really any option to go back and renegotiate it. I watched the TNG treaty-related episode first before I saw these episodes, I think that helped a lot with context of the conflict and why there isn't an option of everyone sitting down and talking it out like Terry hoped.

Theo Adams

Just started listening. My dad used to tell me that I got a sty because I didn’t eat properly. Took me well into adulthood to find out that wasn’t true.

Deborah Moltisanti

“Gul Daddy” made me think that Dukat’s kids may call him that actually. It’s possible. Hahaha

Mark K

The admiral has always been an annoying character who doesn’t get anything.
