I'm a bit behind on my listening, but I did not have a problem with some of the things mentioned in the podcast. First, I don't think it was at all inconsistent for Jake to have been excited to work with O'Brien on an earlier episode and not on this one. In the past episode, O'Brien was going to help him with a school project, so he was probably excited because he knew he would get a really good grade. It is also possible, but not as likely, that the experience of working on an engineering project made him realize that engineering isn't for him and he is disappointed in this episode because he is being forced to do something he already knows isn't his thing. Speaking of that, even if he does have a passion for engineering, how many of us as teenagers would have been excited if our parent told us we had to get a job and that they already set one up for us? I know myself as a teenager would have resisted it, even if it was something that would have otherwise interested me, if my parent was forcing me to do it. Next, it did not bother me that Kira and Bareil had an awkward start to their relationship. Here is why. Neither of them thought about the other in that way, but their gods gave them a vision that they would be together. At the start of their relationship, they were following the path they believed their gods wanted them to follow before actually developing feelings for each other. This shows their devotion to their faith and yes, it was awkward.

Once again Garrett gets his final score closest to the high-fiber Patreon rating. Patron rating: 7.6! Terry: originally around 7.1, but thinking it through she dropped it to a "5." Robbie: "6.1" due to inconsistencies. Garret: "I grade heavier for the emotional experience. When I get moved that is what gets a higher rating from me." Would have given a score of 7+, but due to Kira romantic 'B' plot he drops it to "6.5."

Also, they're both Greek letters.

I think it's pronounced aw-mi-cron. I learned recently that it's oh-mega because omega is the big O and aw-micron because omicron is the little o (mega vs. micro, get it?). Or short vs. long O or whatever.

I've rewatched TNG (and DS9/Voyager) an ungodly number of times (I'm sure I'm not the only one), didn't even rewatch it for quite a while :) Have fun watching!

Richard Knijnenburg

Richard, I came here to say that exact thing - because by weird coincidence I watched The Ensigns of Command just last week. Hey look, it's O'Brien on the cello!

Marcy Beard

the final question about if you'd still love a hologram of a loved one... after the episode made a point to say, in this case, they are made of different stuff but still "real" I'm surprised you all didn't say you'd love a holo-loved one. I think those answering no are still stuck in the idea of modern AI which feels so fake but what makes us so real when a brain injury or mental disease can completely change our personality or memories?

ArtRobot

Imma gonna have ta find dem missin hoooolooograms lol

Robert Allen Stiffler

As a State alumni, I’m bummed RDM didn’t listen to his dad. We would have loved to have had you.

Mike Risley

We've seen Miles play cello way back in TNG's The Ensigns of Command.

Richard Knijnenburg

Terry’s candid video shots of her puppy dog melted my heart, and her honesty about missing Rene at the end of those videos made me cry. Thank you for being so open and honest, Terry!!
