Hi Alan! Glad to have you here and sorry to hear you're having a stressful time. Hope we can bring some joy and laughter into your life with this podcast! LLAP

Garrett

Hey Long time listener and I've finally decided to become a member. I'm going though a stressful time right now in my life. This show is helping manage

Alan Bezet

Really liked Terry’s poem this week! Bravo!

Mike P

I hope someone explained to Garrett what an “isolinear rod” is. Those are the vials of liquid that Quark has. The Cardassian computers use those. The Feds use chips. Its interesting to see that the actors that even worked on the show miss details, but its understandable.

Alfred Godwin

Sad that this isn’t a tighter episode, as it’s arguably one of the most important in season 1.

Brendon

I loved this, a bit sad the expert scores really poor! It’s one of my favourite series. The Odo theme (overwhelmingly drawn to find his roots)…. Avoiding spoilers…. Is going to get bigger and bigger!

Interesting!

Don’t forget that this is a cardassian station… so the tech is not all starfleet and not what we’d usually expect

Sal

You want another Odo inconsistency? Why does he become unconscious from being hit by a rock? In the pilot, someone threw a weapon at his face and he let it go through. Clearly his head doesn't have to be a head so why would a hit to it make him go unconscious?

Elias Nordling

Regarding Quark's key cylinder... things, I have no evidence this is the explanation but whenever some hardware on the station looks weird or different I assume it's because it's Cardassian - not Federation - tech.

Gary

Quark is a ruthless Ferengi There’s nothing he wouldn’t do at this point in DS9. His character does change.

ChrisB

I really disagree with thinking that they overstepped in terms of Odo. You gotta understand he has zero information of who he is and where he came from…he was conflicted. That drive to know who he is and where he comes from…is there a planet?are there more beings like me?…is huge and strong. I think they played it just right and once again, Rene is amazing.

ChrisB

I've always thought, Why doesn't Odo turn back into his natural state when he's knocked unconscious? As maintaining his shape requires focus!

Shane Skuse

Most of the questions that you all bring up end up getting answers later on in the series. However what happens to Odo's mass when he shape shifts never really gets addressed. I do recall reading a fan theory saying that his excess mass when he becomes a smaller object may go into a "pocket universe". So basically he stashes what he doesn't need.
