Noticing on the rewatch that the hunters are using modified Jem'Hadar rifles or rather the Hunter rifles will later be reworked into the Jem'Hadar rifles, but a cool link in commonality between Gama quadrant weaponry.

2024-05-17 17:42:18 +0000 UTCI know I am too late here and don't comment very often because I'm not sure in writing on english. But I need to remember to the famous Picard Quote "Shut up, Wesley". And as German I have to tell you, that we sometimes call U.S. americans short "Amis" (which sounds pretty close to "Cardis")

2024-01-24 01:50:53 +0000 UTCIt would have been interesting to bring "I am Tosk" back later in the DS9 series as part of the Things to Come, e.g. to return the favor for letting him go

2024-01-16 14:58:02 +0000 UTCI wasn’t able to find what they were speaking about; all the doors seemed to open/close fine. Where was it?

2024-01-13 03:25:20 +0000 UTCLove the chemistry on this pod. There were so many fun digressions this week -- that Star Trek car talk was awesome, and the peek behind the curtain with them comparing their prep methods. I always kind of liked the disconnected nature of that first scene. I feel like it's there as an attempt to slap you with "Sisko will have different problems than Picard ever did!"

2024-01-10 22:39:02 +0000 UTCQuark is Ferengi! He is an EXPLOITER in all ways. They are establishing his character and his arc. Stay tuned!!!

2024-01-10 07:38:17 +0000 UTCO’Brien is a war veteran from the Cardassian War. He hates Cardassians, hence, Cardies. He says it alot…PTSD

2024-01-09 20:38:38 +0000 UTCP.S. Remember that DS9 isn’t episodic so the Dabo worker’s complaints are an ongoing theme possibly

2024-01-09 00:25:49 +0000 UTCDidn’t think I could be a bigger fan of Terry’s until I heard her refuse to throw under the bus the guy who opened the doors. Also, Miles calls the Cardassians “Cardies” because he fought them in the war. Watch “The Wounded” TNG episode and you’ll understand

2024-01-08 23:39:16 +0000 UTCI really liked Captive Pursuit. I thought it was a bold choice to have in season 1 of a series and really set the tone that this would be a different kind of Star Trek.

2024-01-08 22:50:01 +0000 UTCThe 7th Rule podcast did a deep dive on this episode recently, and they interviewed Scott Macdonald - really interesting to hear his recollections and stories.

2024-01-08 22:24:55 +0000 UTCFirst: I love this episode so much! It’s one of my all-time favorite comfort episodes, and for me the fact that it’s one of the very first episodes in the first season means that it should earn a much higher score! The writing and chemistry between the cast members is top notch for literally one of the first five episodes! Secondly: O’Brien WILL say Cardi again, and his hatred for Cardassians and the reasoning behind it, namely, has experience fighting them on Setlic 3, will play an integral part in his overall storyline throughout the rest of the series. It’s important to remember to understand his dynamic on the station! 💕💕💕 Loving this SOOOO MUCH!!!!

2024-01-08 21:04:07 +0000 UTCO'Brien didn't like Quark because he was, warned about the Ferengi at the Academy!

2024-01-08 19:37:55 +0000 UTCCardi is a derogatory term for Cardassian

2024-01-08 16:17:00 +0000 UTCPossibly. I remember that story. It was very good.

2024-01-08 13:07:15 +0000 UTCI woulding if this episode was film 1992 and hellraiser 3 came out in 1993 aswell as this season was Terry filming both at the same time

2024-01-08 10:23:45 +0000 UTCI always have wondered if this episode was inspired by the short story “the most dangerous game”. Y’all should go read that story by the way.
