2025-12-01 11:15:08 +0000 UTCMight be redundant to mention this, but this movie being partially shot in Düsseldorf is classic German film subsidy shenanigans. They’ll fund anything if big names are attached, Hanks is quite popular and Tykwer is like one of the only recognizable directors. I don’t know a whole lot about it, and I don’t mean to be too reactionary, because at the end of the day subsidies are a net good. I just cringe at Germans thinking they’re participating in the big league when the result is this junk
